That’s a more sophisticated solution than mine. I used two coins wrapped in sellotape, held in place by some double-sided sticky foam. Seems to be working so far - trem stays balanced and the coins haven’t fallen out when using the term (yet).
Good suggestion re using the loop as a master. I have a Headfirst MCII build from the pre-Alta days. The amp has always sounded really good, but I saw a video from Jason yesterday in which he said always has the loop switched in. Switched in the loop and started using the loop control as a...
Picked up this Standard Series ESP Horizon on Monday. Sold off a LP Special that wasn’t getting any use and rolled the cash into this. I’ve always liked the look of the ESP Mii and Horizon, but I’m a sucker for a carved top so the Horizon edged it.
It came with the trem floating and tuned to D...
An early serial number Rev G (black with chrome control panel) has been up for sale in the UK for a good few months. It was priced at £2k, now down to £1,700. It’s a US model which is no doubt part of the reason it’s sitting, but that should give you an idea of where you can think about pricing...
Based on those particular captures, the Mr Scary or KSR get the nod from me. The GZ was super bright and didn’t sound like the demos of the actual amp I’ve heard before. As others have said, Hermanssons just seem like a different beast.
Always thought it would be interesting to see a series of knobs (alongside the regular controls) controlling the fundamental voicing/feel/character of the amp, but reflecting the words we generally use to describe this stuff. Eg:
Chew <—> Kerrang (or Grind)
Bounce (or Sag) <—> Tight
Huge <—>...
Sorry to see that man - that’s appalling from GC. Hugely disappointing and frustrating for you and it’s money back out of their account in refunds. And all for the sake of a few minutes thought and effort on their part. It’s not as though they’d be short of boxes, bubble wrap etc either. So stupid.
Their B Sides in the early days were great - a lot should have been A Sides. The Masterplan B Sides album is really good - it has songs like Acquiesce, Fade Away, Headshrinker, Listen Up, The Masterplan, Half the World Away and Talk Tonight on it.
