yes that is true which is why my Mezzabarba MZero is my desert island amp. With a clean boost it does amazing thrash metal and without super job at classic rock and blues. I am selling my Uberschall and Mark V and need a modern high gain amp to replace these that has multiple gain stages and...
and what are your thoughts on the Mesa JP2C versus the Triple Rectifier? Jarrod of Tone Wars YT channel did a comparison test and rated the JP2C much better than the Triple Rectifier.
true well depends, if I was a live metal band the Triple Rec wins over the ENGL. But for home studio recording, I love the studio features like built in noise gate, boost, etc of the ENGL. Having both a nice ENGL Savage MK2 and Triple Rectifier would be awesome. I mean having tons of nice tube...
will do yeah see one for sale with mesa 412 cab and road case for 3k nearby. would save me 2k over new. Diezel way too expensive. So it comes down to the Mesa Triple Recto and Engl Savage or Smolski or another high gain ENGL. I get amazing metal tones on my Engl Ironball lunchbox amp no boost...
I need to try some KSR amps. I like their overdrive pedal. Probably think get a triple rec, and KSR Ceres preamp pedal and Diezel Herbert pedal and be done with it. Used Mesa amps are great buy these days. I figure can find a decent used Triple Recto for 1k less than new.
yea think I am leaning...
For me as a novice wanting to learn amp and tube repair, this is a great first tool for quick diagnosis. I want to learn more as it is fun working on electronics. It does match but not at the same level of fancier more expensive tools. Now I need tools to rebias my amps.
Yes, I bought one to work on my many tube amps. Works great easy to use and quick way to diagnose bad or microphonic tubes. I looked at getting two separate test kits from other amp repair places but would cost twice as much and require more advanced electronics amp knowledge. Helped me...
yeah thinking buy used Recto as they are cheap used and maybe Herbert new or to save money the Herbert pedal then all set. Add in a Fractal or Kemper and set for life. Blending the Recto with Uberschall and Herbert would be badass since pros do that like Adam Jones of Tool and Brian Welch of...
Looking to get either Diezel Herbert MK3, ENGL Smolski, Revv Generator, or Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier as next amp.
Thoughts? I know the Mesa needs boost/OD to sound tight but price is less than Diezel.
I have tons of pedals and effects but most of the time I just need my delay, reverb and clean boost/OD pedal and of course noise gate to reduce amp hiss.
yup but most likely they use some sort of power amp with the Fractal. I am betting on it.

If I buy a Fractal and consider it as I already have plenty of tube amps and pedals, my modeler would go into a small power tube amp.
I have both and prefer tube amps for studio and live and modelers for convenience and travel. Tube amps have that thump lacking in modelers. But decent FRFR powered monitors help the amp modelers put a lot or small power amp with modelers.
