I've always liked this one. I think it was actually posted by a member here a bunch of years ago. The inlay is great. My memory says it was a trans red, but I guess I didn't save any photos of it complete.
The ones I like best include it in an actual mix setting (including double tracked, if appropriate) and then include solo tracks both mic'd and in the room.
I also had that setup as my main gigging rig for years. I agree, it needs an EQ in the loop to really get the most out of it.
I went away from the TriAxis setup for something more modern sounding (and also lighter.)
This guitar is a fake. Headstock shape is the easy giveaway, but there are a lot of other tells.
I haven't played the EC-1000T model, but the every LTD 1000 series guitar I've played has been fantastic. I have no reason to believe the T model will ruin this opinion for me.
I have a trio of...
My main rig is just a wah and a decimator. I use a KSR Artemis and a G-major for all of the "effecty" bits. I have a 6505 as a backup which I run a decimator, a microamp+ and a CE-5. That's it for me.
Even playing mostly LP style guitars, I never find myself lacking in high end. Just my experience.
Another user of the Canare L-4E6S here. I agree with blackba that the woven shield is difficult to work with, but I think the benefit of the better shielding is worth it.
I use the Canare GS-6 for my instrument cables and pedal boards. (FWIW, I don't run a big board.) I know people dislike the...
I don't know for sure. Under 9lbs for the FT always seemed pretty light to me, but I thought it may be a different species of mahogany they were using. All of my Les Pauls are over 10lbs.
Both of my FT guitars have a slightly bigger neck than the normal Eclipses, but that was listed on the...
Neither of my ESPs do, but some of the LTDs do and I think the modern E-II guitars do. ESP moved to the sculpted neck joint around 2016ish, but they still have guitars with the Gibson style. I think it has to do with the models that are double bound.
Older, Gibson style joint vs newer...
I have a pair of (old neck joint) FT Eclipses along with a few regular Eclipses and a few Les Pauls. The FT compared to the regular thickness Eclipses has a bit more lower mids which makes it seem fatter/bigger in the room.
In terms of the FT vs a Les Paul, they have a lot of the same sonic...
I prefer to use velcro ties. Easy to change and rearrange when you need them. I also use them for wrapping cables up when I'm not playing.
From Amazon but they also sell them at stores like Lowes or Home Depot.
I have an Explorer that I bought new in late 95. This many years later, the finish feels and looks like a typical thin-ish Gibson nitro finish. You can see the seams, but that's always been my experience with black guitars.
I've always found Explorers to hang well, typically body heavy, but...
The logo is certainly not from the factory. Based on how it attaches at the neck pocket, it looks like the body has been modified for some reason. The part that angles out toward the bottom of the body is supposed to be narrow at the neck plate, but is a full rectangle where the neck attaches...
Would definitely be mid to late 80s with that headstock.
The body doesn't bother me; they had Strat shaped bodies in the mid 80s. The neck seems a bit oddly shaped. Any pics of the logo on the headstock?
There are lots of old ESP catalogs to look through at...
