Kinda depends where you are since the Jose thing is well known although that the one you mentions a little bit different with the parallel grid. No sense in shipping across the country to person X when person Y could do the same an hour away. Id say Dave and Trace know that exact amp the best as...
Some pics would help as a ton of them were modded. Maybe some resistor values drifted up or theirs some weirdness with the gain pot, maybe try wiggling it around to see if it cuts in and out or crackles.
Is there any change in volume or sound between the low and high input? And have you played...
I let god and v1 of my jet city sort them out. Outside of that the amplitrex testers are super cool, take a while to test tubes but they give you just about every number you could want. Insanely expensive though if tubes aren’t your business.
I like the one I built. It’s not really true to most Marshall’s but is kinda a middle ground between what I like about Marshall’s and mesas.
Here’s an iPhone clip, with some shitty noodling.
I’d double check values, IE make sure that 470k isn’t a 470ohm and other little stuff like that that bites you. Also try another tube in v2.
If that dosent work I’d disconnect the grid of v2 on both sides (one at a time) working towards the PI, Tap around to narrow the noise down to one half of...
I did some math based on receipts I had from before we printed a bunch of money. Everything’s up 25-35% minimum for the most part. Not to mention how housing and cars are insane.
For the average dude youve effectively cut all disposable income.
That being said I think a lot of people have what...
I think the lawsuit les Paul’s rule as a guy with a LPC and studio, not even factoring in a great one is half or a third the price of a comparable Gibson. I’d look at a lawsuit custom with a ebony board. I can’t remember but I’m pretty sure you can find them with maple necks as well which is a plus.
For the most part you can’t see faults in tubes, you have to test them on a tube tester or open the amp up and poke around with a multimeter.
I would try the spare, they’re quite cheap and you can get more from your tech if the amp needs to go in for service. Maybe film the rear of the amp on...
I can’t really tell by looking at the tubes but yes that second is a spare. Odds are it will blow again, but if it does it’s probably tech time and will need some new tubes.
They specifically go after low income people regularly, so it’s not a giant stretch to think they’ll go after the guy who made a few dollars on some gear they had laying around. The less money you have to fight it, the more they see it as an easy way to steal your money.
Good news everyone. Who could have foreseen the consequences of letting thousands of military age males over the border without vetting.

Your heater voltage is going to probably be too high and not sound great. And depending on your dropping resistors everything in the preamp will be over the “ideal” voltages. My guess is things are going to sound quite harsh. Unless you go the route of a step up transformer for the powertubes.
Mark 3 no stripe: once I have it around here Il roll in some presence. Typically around 2 and hit it with a boost. SD1 or 808. Drive just cracked open, and level 70-90%. Tone just past noon.
Both masters around 3, but sometimes Il go up to 4.5 on the lead master. Works best with a les Paul...
It’s useful as a historical record for setting prices on items for sale. It might also be useful for wtb ads as people post what they have, same with trades. Only way I’d change it is a mandatory SOLD or NLL at the end or beginning of the title. I don’t really care unless the sold or no longer...
There’s a guy named mark who can tweak amps and might also be a tweaker. Two birds with one stone as they say.
Being serious there’s a few dudes who do the modded super-lead thing well, like redplated, ground zero, and a few others here. Tight and more gain but not a Jose or modded 2203 with...
^^ is spot on, also this might help. I’ve noticed allot of people just change the dropping resistor and call it a day. It’s a great visual representation and written by metro George so you know it’s accurate.
