    JCM 800 Clone recommendations

What’s your budget? And I’m assuming you want one already built? It’s hard to say, I know a lot of people complain about the transformers in the Ceritone clones, and how expensive shipping is from SEA. Only downsides I can think of is 800’s are not especially tight stock, nor do they sound very...

Suggestion for Jose mod on JMP

This might also be helpful if your a visual guy. Especially setting up the master vol.

Marshall mod experts…what have we here?

Looks like a post phase master and the switch is for something to do with the NFB (maybe) and under the heat shrink looks to be something other than the stock NFB resistor. Not super familiar with those boards tho

    !!!!!CRAZY DEAL ALERTS!!!!!

Looks a little short to me, but you’ve owned a few more of these than I. Edit: never mind, that’s considerably thicker than mine than dosent have it, and mines about 100 units later in the serial number range.

Suggestion for Jose mod on JMP

I agree with GLPG, I always preferred the parallel in terms of the Jose stuff. I’d start with the three tube setup, you might find that to be sufficient. In my opinion it’s best to work in steps so you learn what your hearing. For example do the depth mod, fire it up and listen. Change one...

    18 watt TMB MV

Try the Friedman 220k resistor (or there abouts) coming off of the master pot. Copied from another user on here, “The MV uses a 220k resistor in series with the master volum wiper after the tonestack so u don't lose bass at low vokumes.. you gain bottom and bass at the expense of volume loss...

How Often Do You Bros Change Strings ?

When I was playing 3-4 hours a day, I’d typically get a week or two out of a set of strings. Now it’s more like a month, just depends how much my hands sweat while I’m playing. That shit kills strings for me.

    Lets talk Marshalls

USED reissues around me are 1500-2000. There’s a 1987x that’s been sitting for weeks by me at $1600, and a jtm reissue for the same price.

    Lets talk Marshalls

I agree but a $1500 used reissue is much more reasonable than the 3-4k JMP’s from the 70’s.

    Lets talk Marshalls

Reissues are definitely cool, and reasonably priced. You just need a power station to get the most out of them stock. They’re kinda like legos, want the zakk sound? Plug in some 6550’s. Want the evh thing? Change out the first tube wiring. You see the point.

    Mesa Rev F Repair Woes

I think Dave Friedman has a guy that works with him who formerly worked at mesa, might be worth a call. I think it could be demolested but it’s gonna require a board pull with a fair bit bit of fixes.

Anyone have experience licensing/selling tool designs to Stewmac (Or Similar)?

Weather you decide to sell these yourself or liscense the idea you really need ownership via a patent. While it is expensive, I believe you can write off the costs. That being said, enforcement of the patent is almost more important than the patent itself. The way I look at it is as such, is...

    Reverb listing question

I don’t really have a problem sharing serial numbers and definitely need one if I’m going to buy something. If you have proof of it being in your possession over time I don’t think you have a lot to worry about.

    Reverb Buyer Payment Delays

I believe this phenomenon is 33% people who still think affirm offers 0% financing, 33% people spending next weeks paycheck with a maxed out credit card, and 33% of people are indecisive. I agree though, it’s second only to sellers who back out after payment. Real treats!

Power Tube on the way out or something else?

Sounds like powertubes are probably the answer. Could also be something like a floppy grid wire with a bad joint. What amp is it?, I might also try pulling v1 through whatever tube is before the phase inverter and starting it up to see if the circuit is pickup up noise anywhere.
