I have an older thread on there asking a similar question if your looking for more answers.
I recently got a fluke 117, which is similar to the 115 I think. Thus far I wished it was better with lower cap values. It really doesn't like stuff in the pf range. Also wish it had a lower current...
Believe it was iic or mark 3 in the states, 800’s in Japan (judging from the Marshall’s near the stage), then came the Bradshaw racks with recto’s I think. Unless he got preproduction ones as those would have been out around 91ish.
I’m not sure I’d trust much of what Olesen said about the 87 album, he’s said a lot of stuff that’s pretty obviously not true, like Dan Huff redoing tracks. As for the Marshall’s there’s three stories I’ve heard thus far, first is he used a Jose, second the above jcm800 combo, and lastly a metal...
Maybe it’s just me but that track and album have so much cockiness to it in a good way. From the playing to the tone. You gotta be a special dude to slave two 180 watt amps together then quad track everything on top of it. Wish there were more of these iso tracks out there from this album.

Not stock parts:
Mid trebble and volume pots
Most every resistor and cap on the board
Cathode follower resistor and input grid.
Input jacks
Preamp tube sockets
Added ground by power cable
Also looks to be converted to 2203 style input and preamp.
The bus wire looks a bit hokey.
As does the...
Outside of what others have said about the TMB tonestack you also have two other things to consider. For instance a mesa mark has its tonestack placed very early off of v1A with multiple gain stages after it. As compared to a Marshall 2203 which has its tonestack placed as late as possible on...
I like to buy used except for when the seller/dealer lies to you and you spend 3 weeks figuring out what’s wrong with the head and that the cab has a blown speaker. If your gonna buy used from someone you don’t know you have to always assume the seller is lying unfortunately.
Marshall’s 20w line of the NMV and MV amps are close to the same price. The mesas also probably a living hell to put together unlike the Marshall. And the mesas built a first world country which is a plus.
Have you checked the bias and mains current and fuses? It’s probably fine but I’d hate to see you pop a discontinued transformer. Only time I’ve ever had a transformer buzz was when I was drawing a ton of current, but I’ve never had an SLO.
Are there any particular reasons you guys chose those models? I’d imagine it’s an accuracy thing primarily for voltage, resistance, capacitance, ect, as most meters can handle the current and voltage of 99% of amps.
Hey guys, been using my Klein MM400 for years now and it’s been great, but I’m thinking it’s time to get another meter, preferably a better one. Mainly using it for amp work, and some home/automotive work. That being said I don’t see much difference in features from say a $50 meter up to a $300...
I don’t like their business practices either and that’s part of why I buy them used. And if your really concerned with business practices look at the companies who make your food and water, the people who financed your home, ect. There’s a lot of peices of shit everywhere.
I won’t argue the...
I wouldn’t sell a single thing. Everything on that list is essentially cash in say 3-7k increments, growing in value you could move in a second. If it were me I’d build a shelf that covers the entire wall with slots for heads up top and cabs below. Also please make sure that shits insured, god...
