Use to be I’d learn new songs every day or so and work on difficult solos until I had them down. But for the past few years every time I play I only work on original stuff, aside from just noodling solos or riffs here and there
The new one has in my opinion a much tighter low end, not as spiky highs and also (my opinion) it feels better. The reverb is not as noticeable on the hr, but the gain channels are more versatile and defined. Also the new one has a half power mode for bedroom playing.
Of course it would be...
Unsure of the pickup, but as for the amp, sell the evh and get the new Marshall DSL100hr or any of the low wattage variants. It is a cheap and great head, cuts through the mix very well and if you are wanting a Marshall sound I’d say you’d be happy
I guess it could have been other things, as other have said the post office does not exactly treat packages with utmost care (I should know I worked there for a bit)
either way that's a bummer, just hope it wasn't foul play on the buyers part
I agree with you to an extent. I think that if you are buying a 4x12, just plan to keep it forever or expect to lose money. Of course I’ve had some good luck selling them, usually by selling the speakers online and the empty cabinet locally.
I think it makes more sense to take 2x12s to gigs or...
I'm in the same boat right now, I have a dimebucker that came with a B.C Rich I bought a couple months back, I've been trying to bond with it also. I feel like when I do leads I love the damn thing, but it just doesn't have what I want when it comes to the chugz!
Personally, I think the...
Also super helpful, thanks!
I can say for sure that the frequencies getting spiked are the upper mids and treble, and the bass is just getting lost in here at the moment. But I will know for sure when I try that out
That looks great and that is definitely the cheapest and most effective option it looks like at this point, I don't mind putting in the work to make them myself so this is definitely looking like the way to go for me at the moment.
Thank you all for all your suggestions!
So I finally have somewhere to have band practice, the room is 12x12 feet, drywall walls and ceiling, hardwood floor with only two small basement style windows.
I'm not exactly looking for soundproofing, volume isn't an issue but I am trying to make it the most acoustically effective space...
Played the 6505+ recently for the first time, right off the bat I thought the feel was much better than the 5150iii I owned.
And as stated by several above, I thought the EVH was far too compressed and very uninspiring
I owned the 5153 50 watt and I felt it was more a rock amp than anything, also being 50 Watts I felt it lacked the girth and power I typically like, I got rid of it almost as soon as I got it lol
I’d love to get a 6505+ though
