Hmmmmm. I have a 78 2204 and a '71 Superlead that have the original caps - both amps sound damn good, and the caps show no sign of bulging, etc.
Maybe I'll give it a try.
There's a popular mod called the Marvel Mod that guys do to their Ecstasys. It gives you a 3 position toggle on the back that changes the voicing of the Red Channel. Bogner changed the voicing of the Red channel in 2004. With the mod, you get "Pre-2004" "Post-2004" and "Cameron."
Really good film. I loved hearing the DLR tracks without vocals! You could really hear Jason's nuances. I wonder if those vocal-less tracks are available somewhere?
Here's my trans-black. Love this guitar. . . they all look different, with various fades. Mind faded to a really nice greenish tint. Actually, it didn't fade. . . it was like that when I bought it new in '95.

I couldn't disagree more. The EP sounded freakin' fantastic in front of my Ref F Dual Rec. I ran it in Orange Hi Gain mode, with the EP in front, and it was the chewiest, more organic, fat tone. I loved it.
It doesn't sound the same with all amps though. Didn't really benefit my SLO. Sounded...
The 'easy' way is to put ALL the pedals in front of the amps. Then, make sure the amps are in phase with each other. Don't change channels on the amps, and let the pedals out front effect both amps.
The reason being, that every time you change a gain stage on an amp, the phase will flip. So...
