Alright I just whipped this up. Break out your best speakers and tell us what you hear.
Planet Waves vs Mogami Gold vs Lava Van Den Hul
LPC, MkIIB+, Vented T75, E609.
After experiencing the Van Den Hul instrument cable I picked up a Van Den Hul speaker cable, and in that case I cannot tell a difference A/Bing. I asssume that once the signal is powered it doesn't matter.
Mine are 20', and I'm not sure offhand. That said if you want to do a comparo you can borrow it. IIRC for comparison the 20s retailed around $300, but that was pre-rona.
Blake you mention Lava, do you have a Van Den Hul cable? I'm in the same mindset as you when it comes to that one vs others, however I've never tried a Platinum.
It's like I never knew rainbows had the color purple until I plugged in the VDH.
A lady I know here in my town had her husband pass away a few years ago & he left behind a massive high end guitar collection. I've helped her find buyers for a lot of them since then. Anyway here's the most recent one she's selling, a beautiful Zion. I offered to post it here and help out of...
Zero Treble has been a thing on Rectos forever. It's a totally different dynamic.
...but Bass at 0 and boosted? Are you playing an 8 string in a 3 guitar band??
I gigged the SLO100 at the theater we play the most at, I will say that was the only time FOH actually made me turn down- and I usually bring a Mark II Coliseum. I think I ended up around "2". It's a crazy loud amp, plus a lot of this has to do with where the mids sit since perceived volume is...
Makes sense, I've never played a Gotoh. That said I know a guy who works for Kahler, does luthier work & knows how to set them up. Anyway, I might be biased, but I can't think of a single way an OFR is better than a Kahler.. Boggles my mind why they're not more popular!
Yes, even on the R2 channel the no/black/purple are lower gain than the red/blue/green.
Conceptually the III+ makes them all "the same", but pragmatically there is still some color from the basis that shows through.
Hmm.. If I'm using one mic I just plug it straight into the interface. If I'm blending mics then I run them through my mixing console & blend to taste with the faders. -50 on my board would be ultra quiet.
There are a hundred ways to combine amp volume, fader level, input level, etc.. to get...
Must must must have big inlays!!! Also big fan of luminescent side dots.
Fuck board dots. Can't see them for shit on a dimly lit stage, plus they're boring.
