After experiencing the Van Den Hul instrument cable I picked up a Van Den Hul speaker cable, and in that case I cannot tell a difference A/Bing. I asssume that once the signal is powered it doesn't matter.

Yes, even on the R2 channel the no/black/purple are lower gain than the red/blue/green. Conceptually the III+ makes them all "the same", but pragmatically there is still some color from the basis that shows through.
