    Line Out Box recommendation

I'm looking at the Bray one because it's under $50 but the Suhr and CAE ones are $150. Do you think it's a quality get what you pay for thing or from what read you can also make a line out for under $10? I'd like to just buy one once but at the same time not spend an extra $100 for a name or...

How to convince your drummer......reference clips added

I would do the above, record both and compare. You could even try just recording yourself with both versions then showing him the difference. Then you'll know where everyone stands.

Solo and # of bars questions

I know a lot of people here gig, just wondering when you're soloing (note for note or improv) are you aware of where you are in terms of which bar you're at? It's quite easy if it's a distinctive chord progression, you can map out that the solo is the chord progression x2 or x4 etc. So then you...

Boy is Jake E Lee on Fire here.. (yes stuck in the 80's)

You'd think with chorus or flange on all the time it would get lost in the mix but it doesn't.

Volume issues with live solo pieces.

I started doing Eruption for the past few months at gigs and noticed a few things. At home I can nail it start to finish but live I still pull it off but it's more difficult. The difference is the volume level. I noticed at louder levels everything feels different on the strings without the...

    The most annoying thing EVER...

-Guitarists who are posers, use all the glorious rock star moves onstage and yet have shit for chops. -The weight of amps and cabs. -waiting for the 1st set to start. -having to warm up, you play like shit cold and then fine after warmup, people always expect you rip whenever, wherever. -cold...

    DP-Knocking at your Backdoor Tone

^^^I agree there's no slide in the studio. But when comparing the 2 versions, the slide seemed to add a distinctiveness that resembles the studio version, so I thought maybe he had the slide cuffed and used it for a note or 2 but that's probably just that metallic tone with string bending/twang...

    DP-Knocking at your Backdoor Tone

Certain off the cuffs solos are really hard to duplicate anyways cause it's so raw and of the moment, not structured or written, more "out there" yet still works. The tone is very metallic, very electric. Maybe it's a cocked wah (not that there's anything wrong with that ;) ) with some flange.
