I'm putting new strings on it today. NYXL 10-59 7 string set. With the 26.5" scale, I'm hoping it works for drop A tuning, which is what I will be using this beast for (AEADGBE). It came with 9-52 strings stock, but the 52 a little too floppy when I dropped it to A. Fingers crossed. From...
I was cheating. Ive been playing my 6 string in drop D, and using a Digitech Drop pedal to take it down to drop B. Which I do really like, as have worked on my the with that setup, and gotten it to sound damn good.
But I knew it was way past time to get a 7 and learn the ways of the Djent Djedi...
I've looked into it a bit. I'm not 100% sure I can do that with my Headrush MX5, it has an effects loop. I run my MX5 into a mixer and out to studio monitors. That's my rig. I don't own an actual amp with an effects loop.
The only amp I have is an old Peavey Vypyr 15, which I actually love as a...
I would love am 8 string. But first I gotta figure out how to reasonably manage 7 string. Which so far is making me feel like an idiot.
:p
The guitar came with 9-52 strings, and the low B string seems really floppy. I picked up a set of 10-58's which I'm gonna put on it tomorrow hoping for less...
The Sentry pedal has a send and return. I'm not sure what to do with them. I guess I'll first try running my guitar into the input and then direct to my MX5. I have a lot to learn with this stuff.
I am quickly realizing after never owning or playing a 7 string before. I really suck with a 7 string. This is gonna take some getting used to and some research and learning.
:p
Nice. Do you use a nose gate to clamp your signal for tight stocatto Djent?
Right no I'm just using the gate block in my MX5. I've been researching djent tones. And it seems that Misha uses 2 or 3 gates at different points of his signal chain.
I really want that super tight stocatto Djent thing...
I've been wanting a 7 string for years but never made it happen. Well today I made it happen. I didn't have a lot of cash to blow, so I got myself a new Jackson Dinky JS22-7 DKA HT.
This is the most inexpensive guitar I've ever bought, but the reviews and discussion about these are pretty...
Everyone needs an E-1 in their life. I've wanted an explorer body since 1983. Just got this one last year and it's a keeper. So comfortable to play sitting down (which is how I mostly play - classical style with a footrest and all)..
