I can really only hear the Kemper difference when I'm using headphones so yeah, pretty isolated. Mark V 90W, DSL100H and 50W 5153 all profiled via a Reactive Load (now a Suhr) and IRs and they come out pretty spot on.
Here's a comparison I did with a FM3, Kemper and 5153. I used a reamped...
You may want to wait a few months. Models and captures.
Nothing wrong with the Kemper though. I agree about the 80% thing although I'd say to my burnt ears it's closer to 90%.
18% hearing loss in my left ear. One too many times getting crazy at home with a 100 watt Marshall and a full stack where I would regularly hit 128db for 30+ minutes at a time. Sucks but I like to think it would be worse if it hadn't happened the way it did and I would have the problem in both...
And.... I always enjoy these reviews. I'm convinced that this amp can sound good but boy it must be a tough bugger to get mic'd correctly or something. It gets better towards the end with EQ.
Well... this sounds much better! Thanks for making a proper recording Mesa and showing off how good this thing actually sounds. We still need to talk about that name though. ;)
That Ola demo was so muffled. He usually mics up everything very well but this time it was a total bust IMO. Would have been better off using the CabClone IR. I'll bet Mesa wishes they could get a do over, especially for how many views he gets on his channel.
Maybe Mesa didn't want to do all of...
This thread over on TGP talking about TAE and amp problems. John Suhr chimes in about his RL and ends up modifying the existing spec. to go to 150W. Personally guaranteeing his amps if used with his RL.
I have a Suhr RL and a Captor. Run a DSL100H and Mesa Mark V 90W full blast through them. I...
Best cure for a broken heart is time and a new love. Emotions are rough, hang in there bro. It's part of what makes us human.
I envy not in any moods
The captive void of noble rage,
The linnet born within the cage,
That never knew the summer woods.
I envy not the beast that takes...
Excellent stuff bro. Your channel is a showcase of kick ass amps, riffs and talent. Keeps the hope alive that rock and roll ain't dead yet. Best of luck to you!
