Primetime is awesome, basically when you press the pedal normally it stays on. When you press it for longer than a second, it enters primetime mode and turns off when you take your foot off the button. So basically awesome for quick passages where you need a boost.
Great, just using it as a clean boost to to give me a few dBs more for solos but I have used it as a traditional front end boost too. Works great both way and 'Primetime Mode' is killer.
Haha, well.. they all have a use. EP Booster is just really a fattener/EQ, rather than adding any gain. It's on 0 as you can see. Spark Mini is a clean boost in the FX loop/at the end of the chain, for volume boosts. The big Spark is my front end kick, it's set to mid and kicks the amp in the...
...even if I say so myself. Just finished arranging the positions, about to secure it all down but thought I'd grab a snap. Eventides to be linked with midi too, for tap tempo etc. Just now waiting on an interface and buffer and I'm good to go.
Quick bit of detail - this can work either with my...
I'm currently running my JVM with two tubes pulled as my cab has a V30/H30 combo which only takes 60w power handling.
I thought about just getting a second V30 but curious about the Lynchback. I know it's 3dB quieter in terms of sensitivity but has anybody matched them up in a cab before? If so...
I've owned three Fender CS guitars and I think 4 US models. Out of the three CS models, one was excellent and two were meh. Out of the US, I've had two excellent models. I actually think my current US is the best player of them all, and I didn't select it, it was a gift!
They can be great...
I use these - http://www.acscustom.com/uk/index.php?o ... &Itemid=52
The cheaper ones are ok but they still don't offer a flat response, IMO. The moulded versions aren't perfect but they are so much better. Very comfy too.
I've owned both - twice in the EVH's case - but never compared the two directly so my memory is a little cloudy of the JVM. Has anybody compared them both, with opinion to offer? I remember liking the JVM's clean quite a bit more?
Went to a modded JVM. Then picked up a modded DSL. Then went back to a 5150III 50w! Basically, I love the three great sounding channels, great loop, MIDI, etc
How are you switching the 5150III? I ask because the Nova or something like the M13 will switch channels via MIDI too. I rate both but prefer the M13 for more versatility.
I'm sure one of the Boss units would do this too.
Saw this a couple of nights ago. Interesting that he seems to use the Ego Comp as a lead boost, not something you see that often. I figured he'd be boosting the Shiva but not with an Ego Comp. He did the same on the LP Traditional demo he did a while back.
Good job on the vids
