I am also interested in a comparison of the Pandora to the 20th XTC which I have. I wonder if the Pandora can get more modern, tighter ....
I am pretty happy with the 20th, but it is not my choice for bone dry crunch or fast Metal riffing. Let's leave out the ÜU as it is obviously, designed to...
Does anyone own both amps?
I was able to play the Pandora for one or two minutes and found it to be pretty capable of modern high gain tones while still being an Ecstasy, depening on the switches.
I know and own the Über Ultra.
Does the Pandora thrash? Is it a good idea to own both?
Honestly. Absolute comments to be found in this thread are hard to bear. This is a forum for exchanging opinions. No need to tell other members 50 times you hate an amp or style. We get it the first time - not your cup of tea. I do not need to read repeating rants and there's no need to convince...
I have and love this pedal. The only drawback: The MIDI presets do not save whether or not the pedal is being activated or bypassed. Any program change will always enable the pedal.
I don't have an older Überschall but had a Twinjet and hve a 5150. I'd say, the noise with the boost in Über mode is already pretty noisy. In Ultra mode it is a lot louder and boosted Ultra is really really loud. As loud as the amp signal itself when stop playing.
I have not turn up the Gain...
Next round after trying. I still feel the Ultra Mode (especially boosted) is tamable. I used a Decimator G-String (4 Cable Method) and ended up with unnatural decays (Gain at 4/10). The Boss NS-1X did a better job, but you still had to be real careful when playing. Plus, the setting did not...
I do have the 6L6 version here now. My first 5 minutes: I agree that it kills soundwise. I like all modes in channel 1 and enjoy Uber and Ultra mode in channel 2. However, the noise is pretty annoying. Boosted Ueber is pretty noisy in both cases, but Ultra is too noisy for the price, I feel...
I have had almost all "big" power amps for a while. When I made a shootout, I found that the result always depend on the preamp you use. The shortest conclusion I came to was "It makes sense to build heads".
However, some power amps always sounded fine. The 2150 was first here. I also liked the...
Well, I criticize the amount of details being communicated by Wizard, but I do not question the quality of these amps. I own a MCII and it is awesome. Peaveys certainly have a lot of gain. However, 5150s sound saturated and tightness is not really controllable.
In short: These amps sound and...
thanks for the video hint. It helps a little. The sounds are quite similar, but the questions about feel, noise are still of interest to me.
Also, I believe, the sound is certainly more versatile then in this short clip.
One of the things I wonder: How much sense do three gain kobs, multiple...
Over here in Europe, both amps are almost impossible to test in person. It seems both amps follow a comparable highly tweakable modern high gain route.
I wonder how similar or different these amps sound when being compared.
It doesn't help that the Bogner website is still down and that the...
