    Wizard MCII or Fryette CLX

Has anyone played the Wizard Modern Classic II side by side to Fryette's CLX. I know both a tight, but I would like to know whether the tone and feel is significantly different.

    MCII 34 vs KT

Yeah, that's why I asked here. Actually, there are as good as no details. I know that the KT series offer different transfomers and that the valves cannot be changed to EL34 from the KT version which seem to be compatible to KT88 (stock) and KT120. But I know nothing about different voicings...

    MCII 34 vs KT

Hello, this is of excellent help. While I am at it: Would you mind comparing the KT88 to your Fryette (I own the UL) and the Fortin you own. But sounds as if getting a KT version not a no-go for Crunch, too.

    MCII 34 vs KT

I am deeply interested getting an MCII in the near future. I had the pleasure to play one with EL34s and it was absoluty awesome. Over here in Europe, Wizards are rare. I might be able to get my hands on a KT88 version. However, there's almost no chance to get an A/B comparison. I need to rely...

    BE-100 Deluxe

I am aware it is not possible in the BE100 or the JJ100. And the BE and HBE channel are most likely couple so that all switches work for both of them. However, I believe having this option might be very valuable. In fact, it would just need a second switch on the backside.

    BE-100 Deluxe

Hmm, is it possible as an option?

    BE-100 Deluxe

Sorry, if this has already been asked. I wonder if the C45 or, more important, the SAT switch can be set per Gain channel. To me it would total sense to have two SAT switches for the BE and HBE sections.

    BE 100 DLX

I disagree. It may happen that a specific older version still has its lovers. However, typically the old versions lose a little value because it is simply no longer fully up to date. It doesn't make these amps any worse, but I am sure Dave has made sure, the new version covers all old...

    JJ and Butterslax

Hi, I would still prefer to be in for the full 100 watt head. It will simply replicate the sound of the artists better. By taking a look at my original post, I still think it is a great idea: Take the JJ with the Butterslax knob layout a. leave clean as is (JJ Clean) b. JJ channel as is incl...

    JJ and Butterslax

I noted for the JJ/BS combo idea, that having the BUS layout for a start would probaly best of its 3 channel structure, but .... then there would be no overall master volume. Tricky.

    JJ and Butterslax

Sorry for joining in here late. I had both amps here temporarily. I'd love a hybrid of both. My idea would be: Take the JJ with the Butterslax layout a. leave clean as is b. JJ channel as is incl. JBE switch c. add the third channel of the Butterslax (extra gainstage, different voicing) d...

    Ecstasy 20th vs Fish

Hi Ventura, great I was hoping you would join in. I was a little worried about having just two EQs in the XTC. I know you also had (or have) a couple of MTS modules. Do they match the original Bogner? I own a Fish, Ecstasy, Überschall and Shiva substitutes and they all sound really great. So is...

    Ecstasy 20th vs Fish

Hi Bogner experts, I consider getting a Bogner and am torn between the Ecstasy 20th (34/AB) and a possible Fish I could get. I own VHT poweramps (2150/Classic). I am looking for that typical thick Bogner high gain sound, so possibly both will do that. Is there really a big difference? And...

    Friedman preamp?

I believe, the Eganter M2 (2 slots) is designed to being plugged into the guitar and then distribute either to the power amp or pass the input to the amps input. So, it would be a real extension to every amp with a loop.

    Friedman preamp?

Correct. I saw an BE and HBE MTS module at the Friedman booth. Prototypes, I guess, along with Egnater's E2.

    Friedman preamp?

Dave, do you still do MTS mods?
  19. Influenza

    Friedman preamp?

Agree. You can buy a looper but this will still make the setup more complicated, more cables, MIDI etc. I would certainly prefer a simple transparent send/return that is bypass switchable. Could be an option.

    Friedman preamp?

I disagree. The VHT GP3, Triaxis and several others are good examples. What do you do, if you want a Delay on your clean channel but not on your lead? You will need to keep the FX in the signal chain. You need to do additional switching, may end up having digital conversion in the signal chain...
