Cmon guys, we all know Larry builds the best pickups in the galaxy, even if this Bareknuckle character is a worthy competitor. The dubbel kreems simply can't be beat. Whether you order dubbel kreems on an X2N, a Super Distortion, a 36th Anniversary PAF, or a Satch Track, DiMarzio just has the...
I got a buddy with a nice FGN Les Paul that I was going to buy at one point. In my research on them, they have these proprietary frets that change shape or something as they go up the board, I forgot what exactly they do, but they're not a standard off the shelf fret.
Anywho, I never bought it...
I wouldn't say it's JUST loud. It's loud, and built to breathe 😁
I hope you get an opportunity to try another one someday in a place where you can crank it.
I'm a Budda Bro. I've had a 45 for years and got an 80 a year or so ago. They will definitely scratch the Marshall itch and put you in the ballpark. Also, they're called Budda watts for a reason. That amp is punishingly loud with a horrible master volume. So be prepared to melt faces...
I've got an old Craftsman oilless compressor, but I'm not sure that's what you're looking for.
You can always be a badass and TOTALLY go over to the darkside and get an old DBX rack unit, like the 166XL. Then, your transformation will be complete.
The cheapest real Marshall you'll find that's worth having is a Vintage Modern with a boost, or a DSL50/100, not the Vietnamese made DSL 50/100H, or a 900 MkIII or SL-X, avoid the Dual Reverb. Otherwise, keep shopping for one of those modded Marshall'esque Ceriatones or something a builder...
Everyone knows Larry is dubbel kreem and no one else can touch it. Gibson, however, can suck a bag of farts and get bent. All you people that buy those sweet sweet Les Pauls are enablers.
A few weeks ago, I traded my Cummins Ram for a 1998 K3500 Chevy dually with a 454 and 1999 Yukon with a 350. Both needed a little work. I drove the 3500 to the new place first, and it died about halfway. A janky redneck engineered conversion from side post battery to top post battery resulted...
I wasn't alive in the 70s, so I can't commiserate; however, I can say I miss the 80s. My only job as a youth in the 80s was to eat chicken nuggets, Swanson Salisbury steak with the family, open face roast beef sammiches, and watch Ghostbusters, He Man, Voltron (had to sneak that one in)...
Check out the YouTube videos from the Epitath tour. Glenn Tipton was still playing live, but you could tell he was having a lot of difficulty, especially on The Sentinel, but he soldiered on and the sound on those videos is KILLER, and of course Richie was absolutely slaying it.
I first really got into Priest with Jugulator. Of course I had heard their early hits like Breakin The Law, You've Got Another Thing Coming, etc....but Jugulator was the first album I bought, THEN I got Painkiller. Those boys can write some riffs. Maiden has some slick riffs too, but I think...
