If I could have afforded to buy Jeff Hannemans gear in the estate sale, I'd be proud as fuck to have it. Or any of Lemmy's gear. I think it's cool that this dude gets to buy stuff he loves from his favorite band.
Hardly at all anymore. A while ago something happened that took my love for playing away. I finally plugged in for a bit a week ago and couldn't play any of my warm-up riffs. It was like i had lost my skill set. Broke my heart. I know my bro was watching me suck and was sad for me.
I use a thick brick pick. Dunlop white tortex sharps. So thick that the are squared off on the sides. As soon as that edge is worn down, I toss them. I love that "scrape"!
Nope, never saw that in any studio back in the 80s. I too woulda jumped on these if I had seen one in the wild. "Oooo!! What's that? Show me what it does." I was always super curious about rack gear back then.
Most men just want peace and tranquility, appreciation and a hot meal. As far as actual "things", most men know exactly what they want. Just ask him...he might actually tell you EXACTLY what he wants.
But if you wanna go the girly route buy him a cologne you want him to wear, and when he wears...
At that time, I was a HUGE Rush geek...but was more of a Geddy fanboy. Even had a Rick 4003. I didn't switch to guitar until '85. But I would love to have a custom piece of gear like that.
