Well I guess my ears are alittle spoiled.... Mesa cabs are upper middle of the road cabs but they are not high end cabs like Diezel or even the Engl pro cabs or xxls. Mesa's are too loose for me. Especially the over sized ones. I hear alot of standing waves from them and they are pretty...
Pretty interesting choice on the herbert. I never have my treb up that high but i never have the channel volume that low on channel 2 either... I'm gonna try that out and see how it suites me.
I've played a few (strangely enough all of them that I played were in a guitar center..) and it's pretty interesting dude. Maybe it's just my area of florida but they don't seem to be uncommon. Hope you get the chance to rock one you might dig it.
The Diezel Selection tube is a tube that Peter himself tests and picks out. Thats the most important one in the preamp section. V2 should be the ac5 + and the rest can be the 12ax75ac5 or the ac7 and the can be + or not. The "V" is the tube slot. V1 is the pre-amp tube closest to the guitar...
90% of problems with tube amps are caused by tubes. 9.9% are caused by "user error" and 0.1% are caused by faulty hardware. Of course this only applies to highend tube amps ;)

I did it. For the correct bias they do get pretty hot. peter doesn't reccomend them anymore but theres lots of people here that still do it. I put 2 kt88s, 2 6l6gc, and 2 el34s in mine and it sounded pretty good. I like 4 6l6's and 2 el34s the best...

I wouldnt say that one bit. Ever hook up a really nice cab to a decent amp? It usually doesn't turn out so well. The Fryette cabs do a good job of showing off the AMP and producing the frequencies fairly transparently.
Good cab makes a good amp sound great.
The first clip has it's charm for sure. I Honestly think that one would EQ nicer in a fully EQ'ed mix better then the second one. You have more range in all the right places to work with.
1. Make friends with someone that works at a guitar center
2. Get mogami cables for $10 or less (depending on length)
3. ?????
4. Profit
Mogami cables are pretty ok. Not at all worth the shelf price thats for sure.
Hate the NS2 but love the ISP. As stated above you do have to turn up the gate when using the ISP in the effect loop. I have ran a ISP in the front and in the loop for both my Diezel Herbert and Engl Fireball 100 and I found the Engl still has some slight static when I'm not playing but the...
You are telling me that what is coming out of my speakers is what the amp sounds like? Man....
As far as the EQ is concerned... Guitar is a mid range instrument. You have to have mids and with a Fryette you need a bit of them to really allow the amp to respond the way it should. Gain...
