Correct.
The longer the plate, the larger the 'sound stage'.
This is typically described as added "depth" or "dimension".
I put long plates in every slot that can handle it.
I have a Rivera Clubster Royale, basically a Blackface and tweed in one. This particuar amp shines with the RCA 6v6 smoked glass, that being said, quite a bit has changed in my setup, and it would not hurt to do some rolling!
As far as input stages on my particular amp - nothing can seem to top...
I see many here like it the same way:
As little relief as possible.
Radius gauge for the strings/Radiused.
Action though changes per guitar to be honest for me. Some guitars like it just a bit higher, but my action is never high anymore, though I can pick quite aggressively.
I like about...
It just gets deeper and deeper. Realized the roundness coming from my speaker cabinet was due to the Cliff input jack......
Swapped it out....
Didn't even think that could make a difference but oh boy it did.
Oh dude you went for the gusto!!
Hello yeah, Sylvania tubes are the most 'tubey' sounding of them all.
For cleans especially - there is not a better choice.
Solid decisions on your tube choices, glad you made the change!!
Tough choice man.... The Blues Heritage neck pickup in my LP is a monster and is is Alnico V, which does still work and sounds great, but as you saw in my other post, I am toying with the idea of trying another Blues Heritage with alnico IVs.
A2s are nice and snappy in the neck of a LP as...
Dude these older PRS McCarty pickups are screaming!!
Sounds like they may have Alnico IVs in them.
Hm.... May want to try swapping some of my current A5 with A4 and see how they sound.
These pick up sound great. Like, really, really nice. A lot more push than I was expecting. They measure at 7.6k and 8.6k.
Those are the same measurements I saw online from another McCarty from this year, so I am assuming they are stock.
The neck is quite sunken in to match the bridge which...
There is one dead spot on the 1st fret of the high 2. 2nd fret looks slightly lifted, normal. Will get it nice and supported and a few taps with my fretting deadblow to see if that gets it handled. If not, I may have to spot level that fret.
Why is it always the 2nd fret on guitars??
Hello RT,
Look what arrived safe and sound!
Came packed oddly, but well enough and in a hardshell case, so it survived the trip.
Overall, only a ding or two more than I was expecting and a toggle and output swap, which the seller agreed to cover.
Works fine as is but the toggle is loose...
I did some experimenting and.....
The slight roundness I was trying to dial out of my amp is gone after switching away from the Cliff style jack I was using.
I tried a gold jack lying around, but it does what gold always does to the sound and I dislike it.
Something about the way I do...
That is honestly the best looking Suhr I have ever seen. I am sure the playability matches the looks. The money is already gone, let the guilt go with it - it's new guitar time.
Agreed that the Epi Probuckers have good tones in them.
Had a buddy swap a set out, and though I did like the new set better overall, the Epis were surprisingly good sounding.
