Having another Player compliment your tone- usually means very good tone- also he didn't know it was a "Profiler"- even better test.
Must be working very well for Tones - tubes or not.
Congrats and keep us posted.
When using DI do you need to use Cab IR's from other sources or are there good speaker IR's within the unit ?
Is it possible to use DI and mic a speaker simultaneously ?
Not a Tech and I don't know, but I'd send it back if it keeps happening.
Could be a Power Supply thing..........if it's an unusually long time to warm up/power up.
When I say a Guitar is Resonant - correctly or incorrectly - I mean the Resonance you can HEAR not just FEEL.
If you can hear it -it means the strings are vibrating louder or deeper or brighter or fuller- depending on the Guitar of course- and if you can hear it ( in a quiet room ) the pickups...
Not a true single coil but the Cruiser a la Andy Timmons ( he uses the Bridge Model in neck and middle - actual neck model will be a little brighter/thinner ).
I liked the Lace Hot Golds in the Demo on this thread....
Then you have the Area 61 and the Kinman Woodstock .
I remember the Radial Hot British was like a Marshall-in-a- can ( in a good way ) or instant 90% to the Van Halen Brown Sound ....and they actually can sound good into modelers etc. making them more tubelike.
I also like a straight 14 " Radius but the compound Radius necks I've played were Anderson and Suhr which both felt great and I did not notice the compound Radius-felt similar to my straight 14.
I think if you notice the compound Radius thing -it's bad.
I also have played straight 12 " Radius...
If it's loud acoustically- that means it will sustain until Tuesday with a little finger vibrato and also be extremely punchy and dynamic plugged in-sounds like you got a great piece of Mahogany there ! Lucky .....give us a Tone Report after you put the Suhr Pickups in .
I'm gonna be jealous( I...
Beautiful - love the tight flame pattern and the staining is beautiful.
I think the stop tailpiece you have looks nicer than the M bridge and I really appreciate the tip about the Rosewood fingerboard being warmer- thinking of a possible CS3 in Koa or Mahogany or possibly an H-S-H Boltplus to...
Yeah !- I can see why you're interested !- the " Paradox" is even with Metal Type Gain -it still has beautiful TONE !
( the Quinn Amp in the Video you linked= Wow. )
Also the singing cleans on that Amp are impressive IMO.
The preamp I heard was like some of Bonamassa's two or three amp...
I heard a Video Demo of a Quinn Preamp that was a little more Marshall flavored and higher gain than he usually did/does ( but still his own thing ) and it was some of the best Overdrives I've heard anywhere.
+1 on adding Quinn to the List.
Yeah- if the two channel ones when they get to the Modern Era are this good or better- should be really cool- overpriced but still if they sound great.....
Funny thing about the Quad X Preamp from Carvin- no one knew they were good until about 5 or 10 years AFTER they were discontinued- are they really good all around pres or just good for one thing?
Like excellent cleans, crunch and leads all from the 4 channels on there or severe limitations ?
Would you guys consider the Mako Mak 4 Pre to be good for Classic Rock and warmer Vintage type "prettier" smoother overdrives and clean tones ( vaguely EJ/Gilmour/Timmons/Schon etc.) or is it primarily Modern/Tighter sounding ?
Demos suggest it has the versatility for either but just wondering...
If they would shorten the Headstock-IMO they'd be more popular.
I know there are Trademark issues but it does not have to be so LOOOOOOOONG.
Someone needs to tell them.
WOW ! Very interesting- I don't own an LP but I might and I naively thought that the "Tenon Thing" was just a matter of the LENGTH extended into the body.
BUT-the fact that the "Short Tenon" includes a sloppier fit with less contact is more significant- I'm sure some "short tenon "LPs sound...
