Love mine! It is one of my favorite pedals. I use mine with my 50-watt 5153 on the blue channel. The secret in my opinion is the tight control just like the BE-OD.
I use a Boss ES-5 for mostly what you are describing and it works perfectly. I use it to switch the channels on my 5153, switch the effects loop on/off, and control a G-Major 2 that runs in the amps effects loop. I run the ES-5 in front of the amp with 3 different boosts in the ES-5's loops for...
I would also agree with your comments on the Buxom boost. I use mine with the blue channel on my 5153 (50W) head......gain is set really low and boosted with the Buxom pedal. I definitely hear what I perceive as a bit of dirt being added. I know the blue channel has plenty of gain to stand on...
I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the One Control Basilisk MIDI foot controller? I'm going to be using a G Major 2 along with my EVH 5153.....G Major in the loop for modulation and MIDI for channel switching. I'm not MIDI savvy but know enough to get going.  Anyway...
I know you mentioned the 100-watt version but I have the 50-watt version and use both a BE-OD and EP Booster. The BE-OD works great with the difference being the 'tight' control. I like being able to have a sweeping adjustment. In fact, as much as I like the BE-OD I really want to grab a Buxom...
That was great! At times I found myself thinking I have no words for what he and his family have endured.....then I realize that they are truly inspirational!
When we opened for them Dave was using a VH4 and there was also a Peavey Classic on stage which I think the other guitar player was using along with another head I can't recall.
Great band! One of my favorites. They always came to Poughkeepsie and we had the pleasure of opining for them at one show. Dave and the rest of the band were awesome to be around...very humble and exceedingly nice to everyone.
Congrats! I used a JSX for several years. It was a great amp and covered so much ground. Built like a tank! I'm struggling to remember but I think I was running KT77 tubes in mine (or one of the other KT variants.)
FWIW I used my BE-OD and EP Booster with my Bassman 4x10 and thought it sounded great! In fact, I've also used both pedals along with the rest of my board in conjunction with a 44 Magnum and have gotten great results with that as well.
Okay. I didn't take into consideration leaving the preamp channel on and just switching the distortion channel off and on. I was thinking you had to first switch off the preamp channel then switch on the distortion channel.
I figured as much but also wanted to know how pedals sound in a general sense when used with the Theta. Also, If I wanted to use it both clean and distorted, do you have to first switch off the preamp then switch on the distortion side? How do you guys do it? Do you just leave it on the...
