I'm not going to apologize. I love G12T-75s.

Hey man not trying to pick a fight with you but I heard your Voodoo amp sample, you talked about "transformer rolling" and I know you picked up a TSL and defended the "tone" of that amp... just IMO you have a tin ear and more money than sense... not trying to be offensive for the sake of being...

Why is this forum so old? and fucked?

Seriously? Why do I have to concern myself with image sizes? Why can't we have a macro that will deal with that? Why do I have to work through imgur? Come on... this is simple shit that shouldn't bog down the discourse on this motherfucker... -Price

Any thoughts on the T75 “clones” out there? Talking about Eminence CV-75, Man o war and WGS HM75. Anybody try them?

Hetfield addresses tone on Justice album

When I started getting into music as a kid I was really into bands like Slayer, Napalm Death, Carcass etc. But I never really heard a truly HEAVY band until I heard Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets. Early Metallica was just different, their songs had onimous build ups, euphoric passages...

What kind of tubes you using and why? What makes them GREAT!

Omg you are making me gas so hard for a C+ right now! :D I freaked a little bit when I heard the rumor that Mike B was retiring and they may not be doing any more conversions. I almost impulse purchased a IIB that day! Got the bid in on the GEs, although I expect to be eBay sniped into oblivion...

    NAD - Voodoo Modded JCM 800 2204

Wow, that is bizarre. This is like one of those fantasy RPG games where you take the magic sword you found in the dungeon to the blacksmith in town and pay him to identify it for you. Seriously though, there must have been some mistake, they can’t be that cheap? Well, either way what matters...

What kind of tubes you using and why? What makes them GREAT!

Maybe I should just go with the GEs! There's a tested new matched pair for 150 on fleabay, prices range from 75 to 100 per. If they last as long as some people say they do, that alone might make them a worthwhile investment. There's definitely something about the tone of American tubes that's...

    NAD - Voodoo Modded JCM 800 2204

Nice  If the amp is really bright you might want to have your tech de-goop the treble peaking circuit and look at those values. Also, I’m not sure a KT tube would help with the brightness as they can be pretty chimey too, but the KT77 is drop in for EL34s so no harm in trying it out :)...

How do you like those GE 6550s? Are they worth the premium? I’m looking to change out my Svetlanas with maybe some Tung Sols, hopefully they fit!

Loved Slipknot as a teenager, especially the first album but I never got into anything past Iowa, which was also amazing. I started getting into the Scandinavian stuff around that time- Arch Enemy, In Flames, Soilwork etc. But I’ve always been a fan of all of Corey’s work including Stone Sour...

    NAD: Roccaforte Custom 80

Very nice acquisition! I would absolutely mod it. Maybe turn that cold clipper switch into a 3-way. You can add a 4.4k resistor for more headroom. Also consider a pentode/triode switch if you want an easy way to drop the wattage without pulling tubes and messing with impedances. Either way...

??Friedman (modded) Butterslax classic metal in standard.

Great playing, great sounding gear. I'm so sorry for your loss. I've had a few cats and fish, but only one dog over 20 years ago. He was a little dachsund, a very calm, chill little guy, which isn't all that common among the smaller breeds. We picked him up from the flea market and named him...

Old JB VS New, or Bareknuckle Holy Diver

I currently have an Aldrich in my Studio with a nickel cover. It’s definitely a thick humbucker with lots of mids but no mud whatsoever. Good power but not super wet like the J.B. But it’s more of a rock pickup than metal imho, although it is flexible enough you could make it work. Rebel yell...

    First Post Introducing Myself

Yeah stepping out into the realm of metal amps is a bold move what with Peavey, Mesa, Engl, Diezel and the rest already out there. Maybe I am talking out of turn here, but at a certain level of "brootz" they all start to sound a little too similar to my ear, and modeling amps start to look...

That really is part of the Marshall magic, the fact that Jim could get everything to work together as well as he did. To me, it was like he made Ferraris at BMW prices in Toyota numbers. Every time I've seen a comment about "transformer rolling" I really had to bite my tongue :D To each his...

Very nice! Looks like a really fun rig! I have a lot of respect for Scott. He put in the work running a store, being self-taught and testing out all of his mods live. Any opinion on the Nitro? I actually set up my Randall RGT100 in a similar way, pulled out two tubes so I could hook it...

    First Post Introducing Myself

Nice! Sounds like a great find you've got there ! :D I've gravitated towards a similar set up for my preamp- vintage in V1 and new production Rubys in V2 and PI. I prefer 60's GEs with circle getters, and have built up a small hoard to keep me going. I like those Winged C's! Right now I've...
