Seriously, I admit I don't have a clue about marketing or guitar sales, but this really does seem like an item that would have found its way into MANY more people's hands if they could have found a way to keep it under 3K.
My VHT amp will go about two shows and then then the main fuse will blow. I guess I need to have it looked at by a professional but I was wondering if there is something I can check myself before taking it in. I got it used and it worked great for months but just started going through fuses last...
I was surprised at the positive interest there is on that Forum for this model. I also posted my Floyded Paul there and was expecting to get crucified but I did not get one negative comment. I guess those guys have lightened up or the else the hard-asses have learned to keep there opinions to...
The bridge is lined up with the neck but this doesn't make it noticeably out of whack at the body, if that makes any sense. I like some float on a Floyd Rose and I wanted to be able to bend up a step and a half on the G string. The way it turned out, that's about exactly what we ended up with...
Thanks guys. I am happy with how it came out and I can't wait to start playing it at shows. I had no money in the guitar and I already have enough traditional Les Pauls so it seemed like the thing to do.
The color was kind of secondary and the Floyd was pretty much the whole point. :)
I...
I posted this on the Les Paul Forum so it should be interesting to see what I get there. Here I am only looking for the Kage seal of approval since it's purple and there's a Floyd Rose involved.
It's almost finished and I'll take more photos when I get it my hands on it for good. It's a 96...
I have a Suhr Doug Aldrich in my LP Custom and it's working great. Lots of output but responds well to playing dynamics unlike most other hot humbuckers I've used in the past.
The JB seems to have an upper mid peak thing that you either love or it drives you crazy. More often than not, it just...
"Mushy and kind of nasal" is exactly how the 498T came across in my SG. The only guitar I've had that worked with that pickup was an all mahogany LP and it still was kind of loose. The reason I like some Duncans over the Gibson 400 series is precisely because they are not as mushy and have much...
I have used Custom Customs in many of my guitars. They are alot more balanced than the Duncan tone chart would seem to indicate. They have a great, smooth, lower-mid bump that lends itself well to a kind of "brown sound". I used one in my LP Custom for years until I just switched to a Suhr Doug...
I remember seeing Journey on TV when I was just starting to play guitar in the late 70s. I want to say it was Soundstage on PBS. Anyway, I was banging around on guitar thinking I wanted to be a singer and Neal Schon woke me up to what a guitar could really do. It really was the moment I began...
I stumbled onto the cool combination of Duncan Custom and Jazz bridge for the neck. To me, the Jazz bridge in the neck is still articulate but has more balls and personality. It also seems to match up with the Custom better.
In any case, that is a great guitar and I hope it serves you well.
If it's a good deal you should get it. I wish I had kept the one I sold. About 5 years ago I ditched all of my rack gear but have since gone back to a rack system and I know I would be using the Trio for my clean tones at the very least if I would have kept it.
