Alright. Comin' clean. I'm pussin' out.
I'm going to get a Precision 59 kit and a Warmoth Tele for less than half of my original budget.
I've got two kids in college so I can't be a high roller yet.
Hopefully this thread helped SpiderWars find one.
Thanks for the advice. Shawn, your guitars are beauty. Paulyc, I do like the maple necked ones and like volutes. Don't want a pancake body though. I like the fatter 50's neck profile better.
Please school me on new Les Paul Customs. I have the go ahead to order a new LPC. My brother-in-law just got a brand new one and it is killer.
I'm looking at the Custom Shop ones from American Musical Supply and they are around 4K. They all seem to have the Richlite fingerboards instead of...
Super clean. I dig the dual bias layout. I had a failed attempt at this a few weeks ago and just stuck in a 10W resistor and cathode biased. It sounds killer.
Where did you get those blue philips? 500p? .022?
For the bass problem, some of the caps are probably too big. the 330uF/25V V1 cathode bypass or the .1 output tube coupling caps. You could replace with 25uF/25V or smaller and .022 output coupling caps for less bass response. The harsh treble could be from 500pF caps on the volume pots or grid...
Nice work. You should sell it to Zoom so they can give it to us. :D
While I see you have done some high dollar work here. I can only afford to buy you a 12 pack.
Tell them a couple G, a camera, a multi track, and the big pedal board.
I didn't do a comparison yet but used some of the advice from the last thread with you guys were talking about these caps. I used the newer Sozo's in the preamp, 150's in the PI and power amp, and an Illinois on the presence. Basic 50W Marshall I finished a few days ago. Worked out really well.
Paul Gilbert offers an online video exchange class. He's gotta be THE best rock guitar teacher out there.

9x9 is fine. We had a riser that was 8x8 with a larger kit.
Youtube has awesome drum lessons. All you need.
If you plan on recording these drums, keep in mind the mic count and what you have available for an interface.
Barty, That is a PPIMV but it looks pretty nasty. If those are wire strands hanging out, they could short something. It's a dual 500K pot like the original Rich mod. The later LarMar used 250K with 2.2M resistors. That dangling jack which looks like a line out must go before it shorts something...
Is it a late model Marshall or a kit build? Layout wise it should be the same with an exception on the both sides of the board. And like V2a said several variations in parts values that would just require a resitor or cap swap. But at least there are turrets to solder to. You have to find a...
Have you tried power scaling? Works good for bringing down the volume. It comes from a Kevin O'Conner book. It's like a little built in variac, only it varies the dc to the output tubes.
Overloud TH3 is one of the better ones. Try a demo

Variety of Sound has really good sounding EQ's and compressors. These help get tones big time.

The main reason people typically recommend a DI box is because the instrument inputs on their interfaces were clipping because of lower headroom preamps. Do some experimenting with the bassist and other guitarist and see how hot of a signal you can get without clipping the low notes. Maybe send...
