hey Charvel guys, what's the neck profile and thickness?

so I'm really interested in the new Charvels and there's one on line I have my eye on. I understand the necks are incredibly playable. BUT I'm wondering about the San Dimas neck specifics. Is the profile more like a modern C or like a slim D? I've seen both descriptions. Also, what is the...

im a Low Output pickup convert

my current thinking is to go with quality higher output pickups and install series/tap/parallel mini-toggle switches for them. Then you can pretty much have it all and it's controllable right from the guitar. And it's such a cheap mod

Just got an Axe FX need some help....

It should at least sound ok with just the defaults. Make sure you're on firmware revision 9.3 - much less tweaking for great tone. You're using an SS amp which should be relatively transparent so amp sims ON. You're using a real guitar cab so cab sims OFF. Minor tweaking from there. If you're...

    Tonerider Generator/Rocksong experiences/opinions please

Scatter wound by machine. Reportedly top notch build quality. Extremely affordable. So how do they stack up tone-wise against the big boys (DiMarzio, Duncan, the boutiquers)?

    Pickup talk.......

guess it depends on what you're going for. I have no problem soldering but what I'm going for is being able to swap out pups quickly and easily while still having a reliable connection. That means if I don't have to solder or crimp or anything like that all the better.

    Pickup talk.......

pulled out the positwist connectors I have. They are the blue ones. I would suggest getting the grey if going this route. The blue work but are a bit on the large side for this application. The grey are the next size down and should be a better fit for this.

Copper will stretch and give a bit while aluminum just tears if you don't get it just right. Fit the aluminum competely and carefully first, lift it out and trim where needed, and then use some glue according to glue instructions and ease the molded aluminum shield back in.

    Just finished shielding job

quickie job I did yesterday on a partosupercaster I'm putting together - heavy aluminum foil and rubber cement. It's what I had laying around. I think copper tape might be easier, though.

tailor the way your pickup sounds/add many sounds cheap!

isn't that how the ToneStyler (http://www.stellartone.com/index.asp) works? If you're not into DIY check it out. On the pricey side, however.

    Pickup talk.......

You might want to look into these for connecting pickups: http://www.posi-lock.com/positwist.html Different sizes for different wire gauges. I bought a pack for a partocaster I'm putting together. Haven't gotten to the wiring yet (maybe today). They look promising.

SOLD: Egnater M4 preamp w/ TD, COD, SL2, EG5 mint

I absolutely LOVE it! Tone, quality, ease of use, customer service all there in spades. Probably the best tube pre on the market in my lowly opinion. However, I also love my "other" tone machine. I wish I could justify keeping both but the other one just makes more sense for my...

yeah, you international guys are usually left out. I just don't know much about selling overseas. I know I'd have to fill out a customs form. Stuff gets held in customs for weeks. Paypal takes a nice extra chunk out in currency conversion fees. And you guys not only have to pay international...
