I really enjoy modern trap/rap. I know that's probably sin to say here haha, but a few artists are taking guitarist out on tour with them. I really enjoyed this performance of Young Thug with a band. Guitarist has great clean tones through the Kemper / Orange. I get it's not for everyone though!
I finally managed to package down the smallest live set up for our live show. I am cheating however... I didn't include the bassist Kemper haha!
1 Power/Lights
2 Antennae for In Ear Monitors and G55
3 Line6 G55 Digital Wireless
4 Focusrite 18i20 (18ins and 20outs)
5-6 AxeFX 2
Bass - Kemper...
I see your point. Maybe a combination of both?
When I got the Powerslave album by Maiden, I listened to it over and over, became obsessed with it. I got to focus on one record for a long time. I can't do that anymore as there is billions of records at my finger tips, most of which isn't very...
Agreed, to be fair, alot of those can be bots auto-posting. I get "OMG AMAZING" on my TikTok/Instagram and it's an add for followers or some scam. It sucks because I'd rather have a human tell me I suck, than a bot tell me I'm amazing haha
I would put this down to over saturation, not a lack of...
I know what you mean, this is why I bought a 7 string for my band where we have Drop A songs and E Standard. So the 7 string is tuned to AEADGBE so I get the best of both worlds and a regular guitar on top.
It might be something to do with the intonation of a power chord versus a barred drop...
I totally get what you mean. People love an enemy. An "us and them" mentality. A little internal battle to rear the serotonin feed-back loop.
The fact the threat/enemy is someone getting a great live tone with a Fractal... then that's fucking hilarious. Imagine setting an arbitrary rule for...
As much as I love this forum, it can remind me of an old dogmatic grandpa who fears anything they don't understand. I see people on here get really emotionaly hung up on shit they would call others "snowflakes" for doing.
Exactly. I often just move on quickly after exposing their cognitive dissonance. Some people can get quite emotional over such things and will attack you personally.
The only reason Dave's tone is now "bad," is because people where told he's using something different to what they like. It has...
I see about 50/50 split these days. Crowd doesn't give a shit and neither do I.
What they use is completely irrelevant if the tone is good and the show rocks.
Don't listen when your eyes!
Last guy in my studio who made the claim "not as good as the real amp" failed every single A/B test I threw at them.
Proof people listen with their eyes more than their ears.
Not OP, but I used to gig with a JMP-1 and moved the whole thing over to Fractal. Way better overall experience.
I'm unsure as to what people's issues is. If no one made a rig rundown, no one would know he changed to Fractal, and thus no one care?
Here's my old rig split up and safe at home
Good point. My guess would be the noise gate, reverbs, delays, choruses, phasers, EQs, more advanced MIDI, ontop of the the fact it acts as a preamp all in 3U. I like that they still dragged out the old rig with them just in case.
I have a JMP-1 and I have the JMP-1 profile in the Fractal. They both sound pretty (awesome and) similar through the same IR. I wouldn't care which one I had live, I don't think Dave does either.
It was a blast. They played alot of songs I never thought I'd hear, was quite emotional during Lost...
Saw them tonight. Dave sounded fantastic during his solos. I've always found maiden's live sound a little washy, but not in a bad way. They've modelled the JMP-1 into the Fractal then used it to run the power amp and cabs still. If he can't tell the difference, I can promise you no one in the...
