Well, I had an Einstein and a Schmidt, could play the VH4. All great amps, especially the VH4 was phantastic. Of the Friedmans I played the PT, BE100, DS and SB. All great too. It is a matter of taste - they are voiced different - I would say, Friedmans lean more towards the marshallesque...

Thanks! I play mainly Blues Rock, Rock, sometimes Hard Rock (I think of Saxon, Judas Priest, no downtuning or extreme metal ...), sometimes clean. Since you play both: Is the Dirty Shirley more difficult, harder to play (someway stiffer) - or are both amps comparable in that way?

Well, the specs of The SS sound good to me, but since I have to carry my amp around (and won't play big venues most likely), I would prefer a smaller size and less weight - so I am waiting for the Small Box - or would try the Dirty Shirley as well. Not sure, which would fit me better. Small Box...
