What would a thick heavy strap do?

I've been using the old blue MXR EQ pedal and I like it alot better Than the new MXR's. seems warmer,more natural.

It's an "84 and it's super light, my other explorers are mahogany and Heavy. I'm stuck with it,looks like it's going to be a lap guitar :cry:

I saw that neck heavy counter weight, to bad it can't be used with the strap I have for it. And I'm not sure the tuning pegs are that heavy,not enough to make a difference. The Grover's I have on it are pretty small & light,however I'm going to order them anyway.

I totally understand what your saying, I did the same thing because this isn't the first time It's happened. I used mini locking Grovers. And their light. I'm thinking about drilling another hole,I'd hate to but I love the way this guitar sounds. It's alder with an ebony board.

Even though I have several Gibsons, I'd take a look at how Suhr & Anderson build their guitars. I have an Anderson drop top I bought new in 1994 and it's still the best sounding guitar I have. Not that I'm answering your question,but it would give you great insight as to what wood works best...

I haven't had much luck with Chinese tubes,it's always been Russian, Russian tubes have always had a warmer tone IMO Expensive tubes doesn't always mean better tone. I see the northern electric tubes but who really wants to spend That much coin? Unless its for home audio . Sovteks are...

+1 for JJ's I tried svetlanas, but didn't like the harshness. I actually prefer sovtek but the JJ's Sounded good, with a few RFT's in the pre.
