I think he means in order to appreciate the full tone of the amp as earplugs = detrimental to the original sound that you hear.

Is there any risk playing with high output pickups/massive strings/low tunings? I say this because I play a 27" Ibanez in standard B but I use .095 for the low B .070 for the E etc - I like heavy strings, but when I play on clean, if I play chords not too lightly it clips a bit?.. One day, not...

Ditto, thanks for the clarification! I nearly got to do work experience at Sims LED's but it sounded like I'd be more in their way than helpful so we left it, he seemed rather polite from what I remember though :thumbsup: he's also done a bass for Flea and done all of the Limp Bizkit's bassists...

Agreed with everyone saying the price would be mental. I've got an Ibanez 7, love it, but I'd never buy a custom shop jobby from them. There's plenty of good builders who could do it for cheaper. In regard to the Sims LED thing I know someone who's got a custom 7 from them and though he's not...

I'm not big on EMGs so I wouldn't place too much value on that clip for myself but my new guitar's pickups = made to sound like Warpigs so I'd have liked that clip a bit more if you played with a bit more variety as the sound was good but... well, it was a little repeatative I think it's fair to...
