I know this thread is ancient but does this picture mean the Uberkab is wired parallel/series. It seems everyone on this board seems to like series/parallel more. :confused:

Their tone is way better now then their earlier stuff. I think it's okay but it does have that too much mids/honky Mark series sound. They need to pull that 750 slider down a tad. :D

I tried winged C and tung sol EL34's but I liked the 6550's the best. Didn't get a chance to try any NOS EL34's. I just used the master and power control on the AFD to set the overall volume and left my channel volumes alone on the JVM since I had all of them balanced. I got the idea from...

I tried EL34's in it too but it sounded better to me with the stock Winged C 6550's. I also ran a JVM with it using the AFD's power amp and the JVM preamp and I was really digging it. By using the fx button on the AFD footswitch I could toggle between AFD and JVM preamp sections. Pretty cool...

I had one, sold it. Pretty cool amp but just a little too old school for me. :D

Wow! Great pic. Are all of the Uberkabs rear or front loaded? If you have both, how do they compare? I've owned both versions but not at the same time so my memory is fuzzy.

I don't think the first batch of Mark V's sound shitty at all. I just think the latest one I played/bought sounds the best of the ones I've heard. There have been a few people on various forums that thought the same thing. Maybe they didn't change anything, I don't know but I do know they are...

The tubes that come in the jvm from the factory are winged c's. Keep those jj's as backups. ;)

I've heard it's a countdown to the release of "The Final Countdown" patch. Very clever. Lot's of dudes are wanting to nail Europe's tone on that 1986 blockbuster.
