Great demo! I haven't fallen in love my MTL, every time I play it I wind up reaching for my GZA Hellion.
Debating picking up a Reverend baritone to try with the MTL for some mid-gain dark blues stuff though.
Sound clips vary too much by mic technique/etc, would be a hard way to compare easily. I find I have to consume like 5+ samples from different people of a single speaker to really understand its characteristics in comparison to ones I already know.
As long as they post frequency response...
Voicing doesn't sound like my MTL, but seems to be in a similar high gain territory based on the video you mentioned. Lot of things in this realm out there.
I prefer Black Label Society to Ozzy and Black Rain was definitely when Zakk start chugging more. Pretty sure I saw an interview where he said he got kicked out of Ozzy because everything he wrote sounded like BLS lol.
I've got the BKP Piledriver which is great for what it is, kinda incomparable to anything else in that range though (high output tele single coil)...so don't really get the hate around here.
Their humbuckers look good, but never tried one personally.
That was me, first Ozzy album I ever listened to so picked it to be sentimental more than anything. Always loved Black Sabbath but never knew a single Ozzy song that wasn't Crazy Train before Black Rain came out, which was shortly after I started getting into metal.
Truthfully though there...
I think Orange and Red are the same circuit, but I use Red for Modern and Orange for Raw/Vintage so I've never done a proper A/B on mine. The Green channel is also modified and is a proper clean channel (though one of the switches can get a little grit going); can't say I use clean channels...
