I saw that tour in 94 too, both Pantera and Sepultura together. Great mosh pit, great sound. One of my most memorable concerts.
I remembered the mosh was extra rough, one tiny girl was crowd surfing and they dropped her, she landed head first onto the ground. I was thinking "Oh, fuck, hope...
I used it unplugged all the time for teaching and working on tunes. It's not anywhere as loud as an acoustic with a soundhole, but I would say it's at least 60-70% of an unplugged acoustic volume. it is definitely not like an electric unplugged, it has volume.
Man, Bireli sounded great here. I got into his playing years ago, he's a true genius on the guitar. What sets him aprt from other Gypsy Jazz guys is his uncanny ability to play any style convincingly. he's a true chameleon who always absorbs stuff into his playing and make them his thing.
His...
I have a Multiac Nylon, one of the original run from 1997. Been using it ever since and never found a better playing nylon string. Done hundreds of gigs with it and still holds up. Just finished learning "Bailamos" for a show before seeing this thread. You gotta check it out. Some of the cheaper...
the same scales that we all use, but they embellish heavily with chromatics and chromatic passing tones, which is the cool thing about Gypsy jazz, they got it from louis Armstrong and early jazz palyers. Also lots of arpeggios to help cutting the fast chord changes.
Really nice blowing on "Minor Swing", man
Django is one of my all time favorites, among all his disciples, I also love Bireli Lagrene and Jimmy Rosenberg. I recently played Stephane wrembel's "Bistro Fada", great piece which happens to be the theme for "Midnight In paris"
I have to get...
I used them since they first came out. I was skeptical and did not believe all the hype. But after the first set went on one of my guitars, the verdict was clear. They are now on all of my electrics. Why? Here are some reasons:
1- Liked you said, they're significantly louder, more output. Just...
Great songwriting. They wrote some some of the most memorable melodies in hard rock. Great band, the songs make you feel good.
Saw them on the "love At First Sting" tour, it was treasured memories for me.
I used to love Kee's playing back in the day. Those solos on "Out Of This World" were great. I even bought a Larivee guitar because of him.
The new stuff he just released, I dunno  what do you guys think:

Robert Marcello is good, but would've been better if it was his brother, Kee
I checked out their performance of "Bop City" on UTube, the vocals were actually really good. Harry may have been retired from the music business for good, he's totally off the radar now.
I fuckin' love this album. Very underrated IMO. I thought they successfully married the industrial electronic sounds with metal, this was a new thing at the time. Harry K Cody changed his style of playing for this record, he didn't do anymore of the Vai-shred thing anymore, that was on the first...
If you want something quick so you can take the guitar around, I would buy a bass case or gig bag. I had to exactly that for my ESP LTD Super V. Got a bass gig bag because no Flying V case would fit the darn thing.
I have the same experience, but I would never take them off my pedalboard (yes, I have 2, one for each amp when I run 2 amps live). I would turn down the threshold and use just enough to kill the noise, so it wouldn't alter the tone too much. that's the only thing you can do really, other than...
I'm using the EVH 2X12 right now with my EVH 5150 III. Very happy with the results: tight but still very open sound that works well with many different pickup combinations. I especially like how it works with single coils, really blooms the note with nice definition in the mids.
I have a lot of...
This is how I feel about the Jazz III Ultex right now. It has an instant response from hand to string, much faster than the other I tried, which are Dunlop JP, red Jazz III, and Jazz Stubby.
Now I'm going to try the others, but as it stands at the moment, the Jazz Ultex is the clear win for me...
Toto? Heart? Great bands that have amazing tunes. And you get to make some good money while doing those tunes? Awesome  Good luck at the audition.
