I don't really keep up with the effects world some i'm not up to speed. I still have an alesis quadraverb in my rack rig and I'm still happy with it :jo
Anyway, I have two amps with passive effects loops. I have a carbon copy up front that I use sometimes and sounds good for clean to crunchy...
I guess we derailed the tread. I listened to all of these bands back in the day. They've got some good tunes and I appreciate the songwriting. I never really thought of AIC as grunge even through they got lumped in there, I guess from being on the bill at Lollapalooza. Thayil wrote some cool...
Yes I guess when it comes to "business" being a friend for >30 years doesn't count. There had to be a time when these two were friends and it came across in the songwriting. Now, if Sambora can't play or sing because of alcohol or substance abuse that's one thing. If he got canned based on...
I think glp80 is in NC. Bill aka redrider is also.
When he says we jam, he means he comes over and crushes me with sick tone from his Friedman marshall and some nasty chops.
I bought the AT-1 to darken up a chirpy sounding guitar. It helped but I'm not sold on it. I'm thinking about trying out a tone zone of EVO or even an active pup. Might just replace the pot first. This is a one humbucker and volume knob guitar with no tone knob.
I have a norton in an explorer all mahogony neck through and an AT-1 in a carvin mahogony body but maple neck through. Norton is better hands down but might be the guitar as well.
As stated. Despite the shape, they are very comfortable to play sitting or standing. I find the upper fret access to be easier on the explorer. Generally like the frets better. Aristocat has played mine extensively but usually plays an LP. He says after he plays it he feels like he has...
I'm not quite old enough to have caught them in their prime but got to see them last year. Glad i got to see the once, even if it was on the Geritol tour.
You are correct. Inflation may explain the difference in absolute dollar price from decade to decade but what most people notice in their daily lives is buying power and/or standard of living which has decreased substantially really since at least the 1950's I would say. Someone with some...
Pod HD 500 user here. Depends on what you are playing but I haven't tried the Zoom. I will say the POD excels at overdrive/crunch tones. As you get into higher gain sounds it gets pretty meh in my opinion.
Sorry, that sucks. I'm not aware of any mods for the MP-1 that would change the tube type that it requires. Dunno? It might be that you got bad tubes. You may have just burnt through one in each pair. New tube QA is not great unless you bought them from somewhere that tests them/burns them...
Never felt pressure from Eddie for a sale. Dunno?
My Suhr showed up from the factory with an awful set up. But it was the opposite problem. Action was on the frets. It took me a good while to get the truss rod adjusted which I don't like to do quickly, especially on a new guitar when the...
That's a shame. Indoor Storm was a great shop when they were in Raleigh, before they "merged" with Soundpure. Eddie is a great guy and really knows his stuff. And, he is a natural salesman. Knows how to put you at ease and help you find what you want, and has memory for clients like an...
I have the Norton in an Explorer and an AT-1 in a maple neck through Carvin. They are both great pups. I suggest using the pup finder program on the dimarzio website. It hasn't let me down yet. Put in your info a few different ways and see what it recommends most consistently. I bought both...
