  You guys complain, but everything is more expensive in England, other than Orange, Marshall, Laney etc, which are about the same. Actually, how much is a new JVM410? for reference.
Surely that can't be the only factor?
I'm debating whether or not I can justify spending £144 on a quad of Gold Lion kt88s, which is twice what TAD 6L6WGCs cost if they don't last any longer.
How do the bias settings generally differ between types of valve?
I've been wondering if different types of valve, because of their power rating, bias etc last longer than eachother, specifically if big bottle valves Such as the KT-66,77,88,100, etc last longer than say 6L6s or EL34?
I don't get the comlpaints about stuff being more expensive in America.
Everything is cheaper in America. Housing, Cars, car insurance, petrol, gear. Plus a lot of the gear that I'd like to own is only available in America or there's nowhere to try it out. There's only one Jet City dealer in...
EMGs can handle up to 27 volts, as they're wired in series, the battery life is just short of double that of a single 9v, the amount of extra power drawn in 18v configuration is minimal, but still a worthwhile mod for whatever reason. -
Thanks, I may check that one out when I've got a bit of cash raised. How flat are the fretboards? The roundness of some of the Strats I've played have put me off.
Thanks for the info.
I should have mentioned this before you took the time to write all that, I'm in the UK so I don't think I can get USA CS models, and they're probably out of budget. The So-Cals are around £600 which is a pretty good price.
Do Charvel make (or have recently made) any...
Thanks, that's the kinda thing I was after. I'm happy to hear that about the MIJ line, the Japanese are nuts about their guitar production. NUTS!
I like the look of the So-Cal, I've never played the Dimarzio's they come stock with, how are they? I've heard a lot of people say they like them...
Since all of my guitars are metal guitars, plus an Epiphone Les Paul Studio, and only two of them get any use, I was thinking about selling all of the ones I don't use and getting an all-in-one guitar, in another thread, someone mentioned Charvels or HSS strats being good for that, and I really...
