Hey BP - thanks brutha! Yeah right now I've got all 3, but with the new 100S it pretty much covers all the ground of the 50W mini and the 100W original    Prior to my acquisition of the 100S, I had already listed the original 100W for sale.
I gotta give it up to Rockinchippy...
mmm....let clarify. the green also "seems" to have more gain - to my ear - and with my Andersons and Gibsons, and even the EVH Wolfgangs - but all of these axes have fairly high output p/ups (H1/H2+, 490R/496T, etc.).
others may have a difference of opinion. in rockinchippy's Ch1 youtube video...
...the (100S) feedback - and sustain - is really good
Seriously, I'm dialing the knobs back and forth, and noted the setting of all of the other posters here, and thinking, I can't get a bad tone outta this head.
I just finished playing the 100S for the last 6 hours... :loco:
No matter...
haha, that's what I'm talkin' about!
another great aspect of these 5150iii's is i can drag 'em to the bars we play, and the lower volume still gives me the "tone bone" without killin' the vocalist or the patrons (PA turned up too loud).
My Camerons, Bogners, Diezels, Boogies, Egnaters...
i know I'm in the honeymoon phase, but i've been rocking the 5150 series since the 90's.
Block logo 5150, 5150ii, 6534+, 5150iii, 5150iii mini (50W) and now the 100S - either own or owned them all. (BTW, the 6534+ is BALLZ deep tone)
IMHO, the 100S hangs with my other boo-tiki heads, better...
well here's my TOWER of FU*KKING death
my thoughts are exactly as everyone has represented herein.
Channel 2 fu*king ROXX. It's everything the original 100W was not - brigher, more hi-mids, more gain, with still the "openess" that the original 100W was known for. Of course you can't...
Hi Steve - yikes!
These days, driving from Newport Beach to anywhere north of the 605 causes me quite a bit of stress...even for gear
Even getting to NAMM in a couple weeks - with all of it's appeal - is gonna be a commuting "chore" (getting really lazy these days!)...
Hey Josh, I'll bite...it's been a LOOONG time since I've spoken to Mark, and I do wish him well (and always have).
I first met Mark back in 1997, when he was working in Huntington Beach at a place called "A&V Music". Griff Hamlin was the in-house teacher at the time, and before and after my...
 seems like the thread participants are 100% unanimous (for the most part) that the 100S is FU*KING stellar/amazing.
...can't wait til friday (when mine arrives)
caveat is that as of now "right here, right now :D   )" there seems to be no intention of going into production from I'm hearing.
BUT....
who knows after the NAMM show and later on in the year....
I mean, the 2007 EVH 5153 was EVH's amp "in studio and on stage...
not trying to stoke fires or demand :D but I just spoke to my dealer, and he says he got a call from his sales rep at EVHgear in Corona who reports that there is not any intention of "going into production" with the 100S and/or its mods, and this was a "one off". Officially they "sold out"...
I'm thinking about "thinning" the herd of amps Ive got...
I've got a Minty (as in never gigged) Einstein 100W head...lemme know if you're interested!  :D
Papa Peter, I still have my Einstein003, and YET I'm sooo in love with the idea of having a mid-cut and 3rd (DEMONIC) channel (and midi)...
Do we have a tech in Los Angeles yet?
Will Brad be selling/marketing on the west coast?
Very best,
Mike
