I have seen a lot of arguments on this wonderful thread about how one version of the 5150 slaughters another: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=136657
Fortunately, I am a recording engineer AND I owned all three ON THE SAME DAY, so....
I figure for all you critical listeners, I will provide a blind test ;)...
The new stock 6505s sound phenomenal.
My 6505 sounded better than the 5150 III I had. The III is very liquid and fun to play, but it can be both fizzy AND dark sometimes and doesn't have a great deal of balls. The original has more of a bark and fat low end.
I've had bad experiences using a Mark IV live. In my experience, it really does not get along with other amps. If your other guitarist also has a Mark, it's a real good idea though.
Curt,
I bought a Rat Whiteface Reissue from you on eBay and holy moly...
It is already here and I ordered it two days ago... that's no joke!
Great price, fast shipping... I couldn't ask for more.
Buy from Chubtone

We put the title track, "Cannibal Island," up for FREE download on our Bandcamp account; it is easily accessible through Facebook...
I really dig it, dude. There a strong melodic influence in the arrangement and the vocals are damn mean, but cookie monster is not part of the choir LOL! I'm glad the tips worked out. I think the vocals sound nasty. Great work \m/
I hear it changing a handful of times.
Here I go:
Mesa 0:00-0:04
Kemper 0:05-0:11
Mesa 0:12-0:19
Kemper 0:20-0:24
Mesa 0:25-0:29
Kemper 0:30-0:37
Etc.........
What I'm identifying as "Kemper" sounds a hair stuffy in the midrange and has less sparkle up top.
If I switched...
