I have 3 LP's and my favorite are the Duncan Antiquities I have in a R7 Goldtop, both bridge and neck just kill it in that guitar. I have a BB in the neck of my BB7 3 PU LPC RI that I was slightly surprised that I like it enough to keep it..swapped out the bridge with a Duncan Custom Custom. I...
Rising Force and Marching Out albums with Jeff Scott Soto are my favorite Yngwie albums although he's really good on the Live Sentence w/ Alcatrazz. I saw him just before the release of Marching out (they played a couple tracks from it) in Detroit and it was jaw dropping experience to see him...
I have a wall of 50-100w amps and cabs. I use a Marshall Code 100 2x12 (modeller) for practice, it sounds good at low volumes and you can control it with a smartphone or tablet. The BOSS Katana is also great. Both are pretty cheap. The CODE is also a killer Bluetooth speaker ;)
The regular Shiva (not the 20th ani) with 6L6 kicks ass. A buddy has the combo version...excellent amp. Sort of what lead me to getting an Ecstasy 101B way back (still have it)
I have 3 LP's and and all of them sound killer. I'm a mid to low output pickup guy. I have a set of 36 anniversary DiMarzios in a Trad +. A Custom-Custom in the bridge of 3 PU 57 RI BB7, BB's in mid and neck. I have s set of Duncan Antiquities in my R7 Gold top...all 3 guitars are tough to put...
I'm glad you outt'd the guy.
I've shipped empty head shell packed 10x better than that.
I hate seeing this happen...sorry Wizard...hope you can get it resolved.
I have five 4x12 I bought them all used and only 2 local over the years. I bought all of them used. Best deal was a Bogner slant 4x12 w/v30's for $500...good as new and still had the tag on it ;)
Both sound really nice to me. The Friedman sounds a tad bit more modern with softer edges to me. I liked the Shiva a bit better as I like the rawness for a lack of a better word I suppose. Both of these would remain keepers or me in my amp stable. Both of these produce a very pleasant, usable...
Sounds good! I'm pretty impressed with the Boss Katana stuff as well as the Marshall Code 100. They're fairly cheap and sound great at lower levels. I picked up Code 100 2x12...it sounds better with an external cab, cab sim turned off. I like that I can edit, control it with my iPhone and use it...
It still rules for me. I prefer the older German made units. They started making them in Korea and they were cheaper metals and it suffered but looks almost identical to the older OFR's.
I personally don't see a that much of an advantage with the Gotoh units that seem to be in favor over ORF...
I've never been a fan of their guitars other than being reasonably priced. There is just something that seems "off" for lack of a better word, almost cool but fail to my eye anyway.
One thing on "special runs" is typically specs are rigid without any changes accepted. If say Wildwest is doing a...
I'm pretty much opposite as I hoard gear that I truly love :) If something was the "best guitar I ever played" why dafuq would I want to sell unless I was in dire financial situation?
I guess I can understand it from a hobby perspective to buy, sell and trade. Hell its cheaper than booze...
Thats awesome! Congratulations! I'd love it more if it was a full size strat body since you went with a 22 fret neck. Reminds me of those sparkle Duncan Yo-yo's from when I was a kid :)
I have a Splawn bottom 4x12 cab that has Governors and Man o Wars in an X pattern that work out well with an older QR that I pair it with. It seemed to take a while to get them broken in but they sound really good for what I do which is 80's melodic metal/rock and neo classical.
Mahogany is my favorite body wood. I'm a mid to low output in the pickup department and play melodic mental and neo-classical stuff. Keep in mind there are various flavors, types of Mahogany so not all of it is awesome :) I'm not a huge fan of Alder but it can sound really good too. Good wood is...
