I have 2 RI's a 3 PU BB7 LPC and a R7 Goldtop. These are 08 and 09 models. I actually think custom shop Gibson Historics are some of the best bang for the buck in the used department. Both of mine were under $2500 USD. I want an R8 in desert burst or a R5/6 LPC with P-90's for my next LP
please take the stickers off the pickguard, people in the know know its a historic LP ;)
I dig the mineral streaks in your R8...congratulation, great score (as is the R9)
I have heard from several sources over the years that he doesn't carry dummies. I don't have any wa of verifying it but also no reason to not believe them.

all 3 sound really good and similar sounding. It is a coin toss its so close but I like the single notes on the 101B better, rhythm tones on the BE a hair better
define metal? The boosted red or blue channels have more than enough gain for my ears. I have an older Ecstasy 101B and I'm into 80's to mid 90's hard rock, melodic metal and neo-classical, Ozzy, Dio, VH Sabbath, Priest, Maiden Yngwie etc. I don't tune down any lower than Eb and don't do NU...

just bust out a metronome, use a heavy pick ( I use Jazz III's) and run through your scales, modes and sequences. Start slow..gradually increase speed
I don't pair my JCM800 cab with a VHT amp...I use a JCM800 2203 with it and its perfect match.
I keep the FB 4x12 with P50E's with the VHT 50 CL head and it works out extremely well.
I don't have a 1960B (Have the 1960A) so I can't comment on the bass response.
I'm an 80-90's melodic, hard...
Since you went with the KK amp I'd go with a Marshall JCM800 cab with G12-T75's myself. I like the P50E's in my VHT FB cab paired with a VHT 50 CL head,
I have a 3 PU BB7. I only replaced the bridge pickup with a Duncan Custom-Custom and it works out extremely well for me. I'm an 80-90's hard rock, neo-classical guy. When I bought mine someone had BB1, 2 and 3 in her. The bridge pickup was ice pick brittle for me and had to go. The neck and mid...
I actually didn't care for Bonnet's voice in Rainbow all that much but they had some good tracks but he wouldn't even come to mind in my top vocalists. After getting the Live No Parole for rock & roll album just because of Yngwie the more I listened to it the more I actually started to...
simplicity works...and works well
I always loved the clarity on Yngwie's first few albums. Pretty basic signal chain.
sometimes guitar--->cable--->amp are your best option
My first time I heard Yngwie was the live version of Evil Eye on the Live Sentence Alcatrazz album. I dig the live album and Yngwie kills it on that record
I honestly think you can't find a better deal than the price of used Historic Gibsons. I have 2 and they are excellent...no way I'd pay new prices but I scores a 2008 3PU BB7 LPC under $2500 and a 2009 R7 Gold-top from $2100...great guitars but I wouldn't spend 4-6k one em.
Finally folks need...
