On man I need to save some cash...

Okay... I've been thinking lots about the Herbert. My instinct/heart is saying just go for the Herbert and don't hang around because life is too short. The only thing that is an issue (although I'm not sure if it is) is that the amp will spend a lot of time at small gigs, home...

On man I need to save some cash...

You are welcome... I'm not usually one for posting about my feelings - but your amp has had an emotional impact on me. I like my Einstein combo for what it does, as it does it well BUT the Herbert is something v/special ! I'm not a wealthy guy and I'm an okay sort of guitar hack that gigs with...

On man I need to save some cash...

put it real simple.... I have spent a whole afternoon with a Herbert MKI with Ruby EL34s and a front loaded 212 cab(V30s) and now I am lusting after this amp. Seriously I've never been this way with a darn amp ever before! You know when you get goose bumps, the hairs on the back of your neck...

    Amp for fast cutting riffs

Okay... I've been searching the classifieds her in the UK and I have found the following 212 cabs: Mesa Roadster Mesa Recifier Orange closed back V30s and an ENGL Pro with V30 I'd need to travel quite a bit to try them all, so trying them all isn't an option. So which cab do you think would...

    Amp for fast cutting riffs

Yeah good point - the combo housing is probably contributing a lot to my problem. I'm not too good at describing tone/sounds... I'd be happy with a fuller sound when basterdizing Pantera - a bit of top end fizz is welcomed, but not excessive amounts. I don't wanna be a Pantera 'clone' -...

    Amp for fast cutting riffs

Yeah it is a tough call and my head is spinning at the moment. In an ideal world, I'd keep the Einstein combo for all its glorious Texas tones and pull the trigger on a Herbert for my metal needs. I trend to dig in when playing, so I could be described as a percussive player... I need to try...

    Amp for fast cutting riffs

Hi, Here is my situation... happy Einstein combo owner for some time, however, most of my music is taking me down the route of fast cutting metal riffs to psychedelic doom. Unfortunately the Einstein does not get there and I never bought it to do this type of material. I asked a while ago if...

Boogie cabs - whats the difference between...

Help - just a few questions: What are the differences in terms of tones between the 212 Rectifier and Roadster cabs when both using V30s? Thanks!

Einstein channel switching mod - advice

Okay thanks for the reply. I like the idea of the Reverb Roadie from Tubelit - can any of you guys tell me what mods need to be made to the Einstein combo for this pedal to work?

Einstein channel switching mod - advice

Hi, I looked at the thread started about channel 1 modes/mod and I've found a local amp tech that can do the amp mods. However, I've looked at he www.tubelit.de site and I'm unsure which pedal I need to use so that I can switch modes/channels and switch the revrb on/off. Can anyone advise me...

Einstein related - what do I do??

I've owned an Einstein combo for some time... and been very, very happy with it for many reasons but especially as I can play this amp at home, in the studio and at small gigs, and get such a wide range of tones. My dilemma is that I need to often play in the realms of Pantera, Ektomorf...
