Thanks guys for the feedback on the Engl 212 and the 180w rating of the Herbert... it's highly unlikely I'll get to 'crank' the amp. I'm keen on the Herbert for its tones at reasonable db's :) hey man I got grief the last time I cranked the 50w Einstein combo at a small venue a few weeks ago...

Ah well I'm only a few ££'s away from funding a Herbert... slightly off subject and perhaps I need to start another thread?? But can I get away with using an Engl 212 loaded with V30's or do I need to get apid for some more gigs to get a Diezel 212 cab :confused:

Thats exactly how I would describe the Cobras crunch channel... and that is why if I had loads $$$$$$ I would have a Cobra as well as a Herbert, but that ain't going to happen in a long while. It's really interesting to see everyones amp journey before they got their Herberts :rock:

Oh man... I thought I was a serial tone chaser/amp buyer... that is a facinating list of some amazing amps and you ended up with the Herbert & VH4s - amazing! I see you also want to return to the Uber... for me it is a close call between the Uber and the Herbert, with the Herbert edging it for me.
