IRs are Impulse Responses - basically like an image/EQ curve of how a certain cab/speaker responds through a certain mic setup
to me make a huge difference in quality
you just need the latest update c63 has all the previous updates within
here's a vid i made of mine

i think on newer firmware there's an 'auto-engage' feature thing for the wah
otherwise using the control 2 or there might be a switch underneath (a la crybaby) , should be straightforward
+1 on the gsp1101, easy to setup and sounds great
if you're running direct loading custom cabinet impulses onto it make a huge difference imo , latest beta firmware allows that

guy in this vid uses Lip Balm (aroun 4minutes in) .. seems to work a treat , i've still got big bends nut sauce lying around , does the trick nicely

some great clones out there if you have a look
the resale value usually takes a hit , but clones like ceriatone don't fair too badly at all (built in malaysia but you can order amp kits) Nick over there is great to deal with and the work done is amazing for the money , had an OTS for quite a...
i kinda know what you mean, i basically got to a point where i had set 'clean' templates and was using them with various different effect chains but was never really 100% happy with it,
you playing direct to desk ? is the plan to get rid of the pod completely then or you just using it for the...
the tour end april?
afraid not =( i work as a promoter/booker at a venue, not always easy to get to shows ,
last time i saw em was at groezrock last year, t'was truly epic, i could only see half the show though as further seems forever were playing 'the moon is down' album in full on another...
doubt you'll find something midi controllable in that size that's a preamp, midi+preamp usually screams rack unit,
admittedly you could put a rack unit on a pedalboard and put pedals on top of it, or make some kind of enclosure for it, but that is going a bit far
you'd be using the preamp...
frikkin a, one of my all time favourite bands , always try and see them when they're in europe
did you also play over in europe at some stage? might a seen you at some point
i still see Geert from time to time through his new band 'the black atlantic'
off the bat, you'll probably find the blackstar ht dual easier used and fairly cheap as it's been out for a while
I had the HT dual for a long time, using it as 2 channel OD pedal into a clean amp, worked well for that purpose
you can certainly dial in two OD tones, there's a lot of gain on...
if you're going to use a switcher and want reverb on all the time you can either have reverb in one of the switcher loops, and no matter what patch that loop is always active
or you just put it after the switcher and leave it always on if that makes sense , using the loops for other effects/pedals
have you tried a Fender super sonic?
think it might be up your alley and not too horribly expensive , always had good experiences with them and they sound great
thanks for all the responses
i actually have a sansamp paradriver (kinda like an RPM in pedal format) that i bought a while back as a DI unit, after reading up a bit more the sansamp RPM/RBI and VT bass got mentioned quite a bit as some people here have said
i got loaned a reussenzehn bass...
if you want the cheap route ;) 2 Onespots
daisy chain the Zoom G3 + Line6 wireless unit , it shouldn't cause any issues, given both are digital
and then a separate Onespot for just the Tu2 and Crying Tone wah
for more pedals i'd definitely look into something isolated but for the high current...
i'm a big fan of the barber tone press .. blend knob to dial in the amount of compression and a really nice tone to it,
should be able to find one used in that price bracket,
