if you're going to use a switcher and want reverb on all the time you can either have reverb in one of the switcher loops, and no matter what patch that loop is always active or you just put it after the switcher and leave it always on if that makes sense , using the loops for other effects/pedals

have you tried a Fender super sonic? think it might be up your alley and not too horribly expensive , always had good experiences with them and they sound great

i'm a big fan of the barber tone press .. blend knob to dial in the amount of compression and a really nice tone to it, should be able to find one used in that price bracket,
