There is so many variables between different rigs and players it is not exactly surprising individuals have very different experiences.
I prefer modern gear. But seem to waste a lot of time trying get vintage sounds out of it.
Yes. I have owned a few of the BC Rich. Similar but with the Triple Shot you get 4 sounds from each humbucker. Series, parallel, North magnet and South magnet.
The phase switch is a push/push pot.
When playing live I set it up for the song - and only thing I do on the fly is the three way...
I really like the P-Rail. I have one in the neck of a LP DC. JB in the bridge. Triple Shot and phase switch.
It does 40 different pickup combinations. I use most of them. It even does the Strat position #2 quack stuff. The rest of my guitars are fairly common stuff.
I got mine in a used Mesa California Tweed. I have a Heartbreaker. It can be configured close to a blackface Twin. I really need to try it with that amp.
I could definitely see having a bunch of 1x12 cabs with random speakers by all the builders.
I have been chasing the English crunch thing...
About twenty years ago I called Weber asking for 8inch speaker that put out a lot of bass. Talked the guy about a hour. Told me he could build a 8inch that put out more bass than a 15inch. Asked who I was talking with. It was Ted.
Interesting no one picked Jensen. Might be the best build quality of any of them.
I have a Jensen
JP12-100BB Black Bird. I think it sounds as good or better than the EVM12L I have for cleans. Very smooth warm sound.
Best speaker I have for lower volume is a Eminence AR75. Sounds good for...
I love the sound of the guitars on VHII. I never liked the sound of the guitar on VHI very much.
As for threads with vague titles I never look at them. If the title doesn't have gear name mentioned or the title doesn't actually say something clearly I would never look at it.
There is so much...
I have a Canadian accent from when I lived in the U.P. of Michigan and Wisconsin.
It's pretty faded. But still there occasionally.
We all sound like redneckss.
I always imagine Steve voice being deeper and slower. Now when I read his post I need to add the Hee Haw accent.
I expect more Roy Clark and less gain to make it authentic.
There is no such thing as a consistent speaker. Some are more so than others.
I have about 15 Vintage 30. None of them sound the same.
The P50E after years of comparing them directly with other speakers I find they really don't sound that different than the common Celestion speakers.
For me...
The P50E is a different voice. I have a Ampeg System Switcher hooked up to five 4x12 cabs. One of the cabs is Deliverance P50E 4x12. The rest of the 4x12 cabs have various Celestion speakers.
I have had over about a dozen different guitar players to check out the cabs with various amps blind...
