At some point or another , I seem to recall some drama involving Doug , but don't remember the nature of it. I played an HG100 or maybe it was Custom 80? I was not terribly impressed.. They are loud and proud but kinda sterile and high fi sounding from my limited experience.. Can't remember...
Derek Bernier!!. He was a great dude!.... he loved his Splawns and Engls!! He turned me on to Splawn back when you could get a brand new Marshall 1987x that Scott would modify. @1300.00 out the door including the mod. Actually I think they were 1250.00. IIRC. good times back then...
I don't doubt people have had bad dealings and that sucks. Again, how many of those are Mark's doing and how much has to do with failed business venture with Brad?? I do not know that whole story.. but clearly he has not fulfilled his obligation to some and has with others. Tech asked for...
I had no connection with him prior to doing business with him. Met him once at NAMM once when a bunch of us from the old HCAF(before RT came about) rallied for for some debauchery before NAMM went down the tubes.. I don't know anyone first hand who has got burned by him. I only hear about...
Just got this guitar last fall. I don't bond with Floyds so it just sits there looking pretty. Nice dark Ebony board. Great condition has one nice ding on rear bout edge. came that way from Sweetwater. Smoking deal for quick sale. 500.00 local pickup or possible meet on west coast...
Mark is alive and well and is a very talented amp maker/modder and a helluva a player. There is lots of internet lore out there, some of which is true and other things more the case of people jumping on the bandwagon and bashing him with out any first hand experience. Many folks have had...
Excellent used condition. Great pedal, But I don't use it. Maybe more popular to the Tan pants crew at TGP, but make no mistake this is a great pedal for boosting your amp into metal territory. Like an optimized TS mixed and a variable clean boost. Very versatile, but my current amp has...
If it does not have to say Marshall on it, The Friedman JEL 20 would be my first recommendation. It does everything you want, but it is red... Lol
I embraced the color and bought the matching cab. Lol. great amp snd sounds like optimized JMP on one channel and hot rodded 800 on the other.
Marshall Studio Classic would be a good fit, since you already have the vert 212 to go with it. I would put that up there as another top choice.
Studio Vintage is cool, but it only sounds good cranked.... forget about any good tone at bedroom volumes. I had one for a few months thinking it...
JCM 2000 I have ab'd mine with the DSL100H and the H sounded more brittle on the top end. Still totally useable, but it sounded more like the JVM which also has that cheapish, brittle quality to the sound.
Marshall JCM2000 DSL50. or 100, but if you get the 100 be sure it is after the bias drift issues were resolved.
I have owned the JVM, Origin, several Jubilees, Studio 800, Studio Vintage, plus tons of 800's and JMP
Aside from the vintage amps, I think my DSL50 sounds better than all of them ...
Love yngwie. First time I saw him was with Alcatrazz in 1983 at a small venue in Reseda,Ca. called the Country Club. Blew my mind! I was still grieving the loss of Randy, but seeing Yngwie helped... He was so full of fire and had a profound effect and influence on me as a teenager.
Bogner Burnley (version 1) works great into the low input of a JCM 800. The pedal itself can be a little dark, but I crank the tone knob on the pedal and the 800 has ample brightness so the two work together quite well.
