I really hope they are what they are cracked up to be because I have a 50W MkII coming next year. :) Any new amps coming into the house result n some back and forth in the household, too; so it is not an every day thing for me.
In the back of my head the VH1 tone is always my benchmark for 80s...
Yes, exactly. The Synergy has an analog cab simulated output but it does not emulate a power amp, so that is almost certainly what you are noticing running direct. There are some solutions for getting a power amp + cabinet sim on the preamp's output that would be comparable to an IR-X (a number...
I just ordered a Metro MK2 recently, won’t be done until next year. GASsing hard for one, everything I have seen/heard is making me think this might be the one for me.
Actually the 50 is easy to find.. They sell the 50W new at GC, Sweetwater, etc.

Yes, this. There is nothing that changes in the power amp between modules/channels. The ‘sensing’ of the cathode selection switch on the module adjusts V1 tube ckt config and is the exact same across anything in the Synergy system that can accept a module (i.e. Syn1/Syn2/Syn20ir/Syn30/Syn50)...
I ran an MP-1 rig for years. I loved that thing. I had it modded with the 3TM mod and it was the WORST. It completely wrecked the crunch channel and the distortion channel became a hot mess. It ruined the preamp for me. I completely regretted doing. I sold it and bought another but t, the second...
Agree. It's pretty cool and all but the amps and cabs are already there as you mention.
A few FX I guess are "newish" one of the Choruses in particular is supposed to be pretty great. Since the QC can capture amps and drive pedals it is not hurting for amps or drives, you can even capture the...
In the TGP Synergy Megathread the SLO has long been the stand out module that everyone loves but with the rumors of a true two channel version on the horizon that complicates whether it is a slam dunk. If you don't care much about resale you can get that module on the used market on the cheap...
FWIW with the DeLisle I can run the Axe in the loop of all of my amps because it switches loops too. That’s one of the reasons I opted for it. For others with an attenuator output, you can redirect through a PS2 and the PS2 can provide loop for the Axe.
Have had a Delisle for a while now 8x6 w/ built in attenuator, etc. I did not really need footswitching, and wanted to be able to do FX loop switching; super happy w/ it.
FWIW, I have a lot of experience with the Syn stuff and I'd say it's certainly not the 'weak' part, but it is TOTALLY a matter of taste... and since the power section is going to flavor every single module, if you don't agree with it; that will definitely have you fighting your rig rather than...
My guess: he is using one Syn1 for each of the LXII power amps in that rack. That rig is like having two 100W 2 channel heads in that space. Pretty neat.
I've seen pics of some bigger rigs of his using multiple Syn2s/LXIIs... He will also still use Legacy amps too, IIRC, sometimes. Probably all...
