To muddy the waters a little more, I've been in contact with Nik about a new amp he's working on that is super clean... I was inquiring about a black face clone and he suggested this new amp that sustains clean, the SSS. (Steel String Singer)

475 I think. :confused: I don't know what the original trannies were, but the non-Sovtek ones were not so good for that amp. The trannies from the Plus series are huuuge... there's a funny back story on those, not for public consumption though.

If it's any help, a Krank Revolution Series One is a modded Sovtek Mig 100h. First runs of the Rev were built on the Sovtek chassis, using the iron. Subsequent runs used all Krank parts, and the transformers IMO were undersized. A Krank Revolution Series One with bigger transformers sounds...

The Plus models are better than the series one anyway, IMO partially because the transformers are so much bigger. The 'stein models are voiced more treble-y than the Rev because that's what Dime wanted, along with the Texas Heats in the cab, I think he had hearing loss, the top end is the first...

I've done this with a Fender Roadworn '72 Deluxe Tele and a USA Custom Guitars neck, so I could have "my" neck profile, and 22 frets.

I'm using three one spots and a danelectrode and have no noise issues. Everything is on a loop, except for the wah, which I only use occasionally.
