I really do not agree with this. The worst sound I have ever gotten out of VH4 was a LP Studio with JB+Jazz combination - Changed them to BKP Nailbombs (Alnico) which made huge difference. But as we all know, sound preferences are so personal. :thumbsup:

In terms of my equipment in bedroom volumes; Mesa Mark V and Mako MAK2 are better than VH4 which is rather decent. As far as I know, VH4 has a bit different characteristic in the master volume department as e.g. Herbert and thus is not that well suited to quiet volume levels.

There seems to be a difference how sensitive the output trannies are to mismatching. I believe the ones in Diezels will be pretty tought to kill. As I am not an expert on the "law of Ohm over output transistors' tolerance" I will not comment on this mismatching towards higher or lower...

It does not make any difference wether you use the above or bellow plug-hole when using only one cab.

Not a direct answer to your question, but my band's another guitarist uses M13 to control his Engl Invader (through MIDI of course) and it works perfectly.

Two 8ohm cabs --> two 8ohm holes. (= 4ohm load) Two 16ohm cabs --> two 16ohm holes. (= 8ohm load)

It really is not a big deal to replace the hum trimmer. I have done it once in my VH4 as malfunctioning (actually "exploding" C-Svetlana) KT88 wrecked mine. Just for the future record, is replacing the hum trimmer by resistors an official recommendation from Diezel nowadays?

The problem is that you can program a "typical" MIDI foot switch to operate like this, but as Diezels do not understand MIDI CC-messages you are not able to do it that simply (= global mid cut on/off switch). As you stated, you can do this preset based with PC-messages. Needs more programming...

I would say that it depend alot from your setup and needs. For channel switching purposes you don't need much from your pedal, but if you need real time controlling (i.e. MIDI CC-commands to control your FX-unit) then it is another story.
