    Suggestion for Diezel

For sure there is interest and market for this, but personaly I love all the hazzle in micin the cab so no thanks for me. Direct inputs are for digital instruments and I prefer my guitar analog.

Quick question about muting the Herbert

Bato is correct. You do not specify the exact Boss GT -model so cannot check this, but if your Boss unit sends MIDI Program Change -messages also in the activation of CNTRL pedal you can achieve this with a little programming. I have seen some manufacturers units which can also be programmed to...

    Wet/Dry HELP!!!

Nothing in front of VH4 either? Things tend to get complicated when you have some units that are to be joint either in loops or up-front. I have a dual mono rig as well with both amps having individual FX-units (+ some other stuff), but both share the rack-wah in front. I strongly recommend not...

    Whammy pedal and VH4

I have always prefered Whammy in serial loop. Currently I use Eventide Eclipse to do these biaatch-shifter things and by no surtprise it is in VH4's serial loop. But it is absolutely correct what has been stated, that it depends on the effect you are looking for. Naturally you must also take...

    Preamp tubes

You can also order a retube set from Peter himself if uncertain what to get. Last time he sent me a TAD for V1 and Rubys for the rest slots.

Nova System make popping sound when changing patches -solved

Yes, there are devices that can be set to have a small delay in sending MIDI messages. Also some FX-units are able to do this. However, I do not think that is your problem. Instead I think there is some static DC voltage building in the signal chain (inputs & outputs of your equipment in...

    VH4 Cleans

One reason why I love VH4 Clean channel is because it does not only have independent EQ, but it also has independent volume and gain controls. Im sorry, but I really do not understand why for example Herbert does not have independent gain control on the clean channel - I don't say Herbert cleans...

    about Furman power conditioning..

I actually ended up doing this last night at our practices before reading your posting - Just because I got very curious on this due to your experiece. My setup has absolutely no difference in tone whether it is powered through Furman or ordinary power cord or distributor (or whatever they are...

    about Furman power conditioning..

I use Furman AC-210 (similar compact unit, but Euro voltage) without any problems. I actually have my full live-setup powered through it (2 amps, 5 rack unit, MIDI-board, 9V/12V-power supply feeding wireless and some smaller gizmos). Im pretty sure you have bad electricity and a ground loop...

    Hagen making a whooshing sound

I agree with you Alex and assume this is the case here. However, it wouldn't be the first time to find myself saying "assumption is the mother of all f'ck-ups". In my opinion, ruling out the basic stuff saves some trouble from all parties involved and I would definitely include a step of 'test...

    Hagen making a whooshing sound

Just to double-check, "the beach" is there even with nothing else in signal chain except guitar and cab? No pedals or processors in loop or in-front. How about if you unplug your guitar from input as well?

If you support us, I'll drag a pile of Diezels on stage

Hello all you fellow Diezel lunatics! Another one of my bands Vaskitsa, the Finnish-language metal band, is participating to a competition for attending into a Nummirock Metal Festival this summer. The festival is held here in Finland and they provide a possibility for non-labeled bands to get...

Will different preamp tubes make Herbert/VH4 change sound?

To some degree yes. Different tubes will change the tone, but do not expect very dramatic change, still something you will hear for sure when doing A/B-tests. Im loosing my faith in new production tubes as their quality seems to be crap and it definitely cannot be quaranteed that the two of a...

Need a little bit more from my pickup. Using Suhr-Aldrich

I do not really know is pinch harmonics a good reference point as that problem might be somewhere completely else if your PHs are not screaming through. Even with clean sounds or without amp the pinches should be clearly audible. Have you tried adjusting the pickup height also? Too high or too...

    Biasing kt77's

Im not Peter, but set the bias so that one with lowest reading reaches 35mA. By all means of course try little higher and lower settings as well. In my opinion one's ears should always be involved when biasing (assuming that the readings are within safe range).

    Ohms

Don't want to be rude, but please use search function of this forum. This topic has been discussed multiple times here so Im very confident you find a detailed answer there. If still in doubt please ask. You must always consider the total load when connecting the cab(s). The outputs in VH4 are...

which diezel amp do you find yourself playing more....

I have the pleasure of owning both VH4 and Herbert and if I would need to pick only one, it would be VH4 without any doubt. Much more character in the tone. Lovely stiff "roar" and plenty of articulation. Not to mention 4 channels with independent EQs.
