Ok so heres what I did...
I tried replacing V1 with an EHX tube I had lying around and the noise was still there...
So I stuck the tube I took from V1 and swapped it into V4 and the noise has lowered considerably...
What I want to do now is replace all the tubes with low noise tubes and was...
Sorry to be a pain, but I need to know that this is not normal before I proceed...
I have the master volume on 9 o clock and the channel 1 volume on 12...
The amp hisses quite loudly on this setting.. regardless of an input jack being plugged in...
No other connections are made either...
Do...
I've found the EMG 85/81 to be the most robust live pickup I've ever tried...
I use them in my Les Paul and my PRS along with my VH4.
After trying the 18v mod I reverted back to 9v out of personal preferance. Although the 18v mod takes away the signature EMG sound, it does make it sound like...
thanks for that... i might give that a try...
are there any other solutions? could it just be that i need to buy another set of the same and that one might be faulty?
I don't really want to change the sound that the old preamp tubes give me...
cheers,
john
Hey guys...
I dunno if this has always been the case or that I've just noticed it, but I'm getting hiss from my VH4.
I don't mind much hiss in my distortion channels however I'm experiencing it in channel 1 which I'm assuming shouldn't be the case.
I have the unit plugged into a furman power...
Hi C4...
The reason I want a Hotplate is to make the amp so that I can use stereo effects with it...
Other than buying a VH4s, I'll need to feed the VH4 into a hotplate, hotplate line out to the g-force, stereo out to a stereo poweramp and then to my speakers...
Does anyone have any other...
hey guys...
I'd like to run my VH4 with stereo effects and so I was wondering if you could give me some advice...
I'm going to run the output of the VH4 into a THD hotplate, from the line out of the hotplate I'm going to run it into my G-Force. From there its going to go into a stereo rack...
boohoo
Nevermind...
I can use a switcher for level comparisons...
Thanks for answering Peter...
I must say I've had the VH4 for a good few months now and I can honestly that I'm never buying another amp, even if my band gets signed.
If we do get signed, I might go for a VH4s for...
Hey guys...
I'm just trying to set my levels with a g-force and would liek to compare the levels with and without the g-force in the serial loop.
Can the serial loop be switchable? Could someone explain if this is possible?
Cheers,
John
Thanks for the info lordriffenstien...
I'll probably go with the G-Force then...
I like to put a Keeley DS-1 in front of my amp so I'm going to get one of those Leele True bypass midi switchers and stick my korg kaoss pad in the 2nd loop.
Only problem is my whammy...
I own a WH-1 and wished...
from what I can see, the g-system accepts midi program changes...
If someone can assure me 100% that the sound quality of the g-system matches the g-force then i guess i'l got with the g-system purely for the floorboard and the ability to tidy up my rig witht he inserts...
I don't want my tone...
Thanks for replying,
Thats what i thought, however intelligent picth shifting has been added in the latest patch to the g-system....
I really don't knwo what to go with...
Hey guys, I was wondering if you could help me...
I've got a Diezel VH4 and I've just ordered a Custom live in case for it with 3 rack spaces above it.
One of the spaces will oviously be for A furman power conditioner, and before I read aboutt the g-system, the g force was going to be my 2nd...
Thanks for replying...
What about the G-Force? I don't mind paying extra if the quality is going to be better.
I'm basically looking for a good rack unit that won't colour my tone, however I understand that anything thats digital will do this and I'll just have to live with some tonal...
thanks guys...
not got a g-major yet and so was wondering...
I am currectly using a pod in the parrallel loop as when i put it in the serial loop i could immediatley hear my beloved tone slipping away... I tried to fix it with a sonic maximiser however I've now come to the conclusion that...
