I have a IIB loop mod and a mark iii green and a mark v. The loop mod B doesnt sound much like III or V to me, much more vintage sounding
I think one of the issues with the V is the master gain control that all the other marks have is internally fixed at about a 5. Modding it to push that up to...
I put a JB jr in the bridge of a partscaster (mexi body, allparts neck)
Tone is great for E or E flat tunings, stays in tine for hours, good feel... i cant get enough of it and it's built from spares/junk
Very feasible to put a different component values into the same circuit board which otherwise shares all the same topology. Most amps are pretty much the same topology with different values anyway. Each designer could essentially voice their own amp using the same hardware and a few component...
Ive seen it installed two ways - with the gain pots in parallel and the wiper/ouput switched, and with the gain pot input switched. The former way will double the bass cut off frequency if the coupling cap isnt doubled or the pot values doubled. So basically yes, quite possible to revoice those...
Yeah good vid
I have a BE50dlx and 2204. For me, the 2204 is better in a live band mix i find, more cut when the power amp is overdriving. But the BE is a bit thicker in the mids and nicer at lower volumes.
If I had 100W power amps it might be a different story
If you dont want any grit in your clean tone you can just use an EQ pedal. Otherwise a loop select pedal to send the guitar into the pre and back from the fx send, or bypass pre and into (via pedals) return would work
What they're supposed to do is stop high end being lost from the cable impedance, not add anything. Fair enough if you prefer the rolled off top end though.
Nah, it is what it is.
Every copyright case is the same, first establish that you have an original copyright work, then establish an alleged infringement, then establish the causal link between the original and the alleged copy.
Copyright law actually gets a bit complex for electronic circuits...
Y'all need to forget about patents, design, trademarks and other registered forms of IP rights.
Copyright is what is relevant here. Copyright doesnt need to be registered before it's released to public and it's lifespan exists for the life of the author +50 years (term differs between...
Friedman is open about his amp circuits being various Jose mods. I.e. they aren't original circuits, but rather his own selection of component types to build the circuit.
He's also open about where and who makes his amps.
Everyone can comfortably make up their mind based on open and transparent...
Victory amps are made using the process Larry has described too
China builds the PCB, chassis and transformers. Guy in the UK plugs everything together
Hey look, Fortin is selling the preamp he copied the circuit from

Or you could support the OG

They have a facebook group that they are responsive on - recently I had EU and US Engl guys both discuss with me directly and sorted me out straight away
You might be thinking of Peavey which was what we know as the thump/resonance control - low frequency negative feedback control in the power amp. Bogner has to go with an 'excursion switch' with preset values instead of having the control variable.
