Sorry, guys, I usually don't bitch about much and just roll with the punches. But I have to about this. I have left multiple phone messages and sent multiple emails. Simple questions needing simple answers. All I've gotten in return for the past 2 months is the cold shoulder. Zero replies. I'm...
Timely thread.
Contacted a gal last week on FBMP, selling her son's 1960B that was 100% beat-to-absolute-sh*t. She wanted $750 and wouldn't take a dime less "because of the quality Marshall sound." I sent her links of other 1960B's in the area that were mint for $500, and one that was roached...
In Glenoma? Yup, same cab. I was trying to package it with some of his other stuff to make it more enticing for him. He finally got back to me and said the cab was spoken for. Too bad. He was only a 20 min drive away, too.
The Memphis is still here. Funny thing about that guy...I took it to a...
I'm currently working on a deal that involves a Marshall 1520 cab that has its original quad of 12" Sidewinders. If the deal goes thru, you're welcome to swing by and move some air.
Late 90's, cover band, insanely packed bar, I play Felder's first phrase in the counter-point solo in Life In The Fast Lane a half step down. The wrong notes filled the club like a fart in an elevator. Everybody on stage (including me) and every guitar player in the crowd instantly laugh their...
I'd love to check out BAD's version. Of the three main changes (pedal friendly loop, DC heaters, trannies), I'm really curious to see how the output tranny behaves with the masters at 6-8. This where OG SLOs step on the gas.
"boxy"?
I've had some Mesa 1x10 combos that were boxy as hell (Subway Blues, Subway Rocket, Express). That 10" Eminence that Randall chose did his amps no favors.
Mods/tweaks were mentioned. Whenever I buy an SLO, removing the bright cap across the lugs of the gain pot on the lead channel is the first thing I do. This is all that the Haynes mod does. Once the chassis is pulled, it's litteraly a 10 second job with a soldering iron.
I've bought and sold probably 20 SLOs over the years; my first one in '99. I'd fall in love with it, then fall out of love for whatever reason and flip it. A little time would go by and then rinse and repeat. They do their own thing, that's for sure.
